State of Origin

Just wondering, do you guys in the US. get any coverage of an Australian Football game called "State of Origin"?

The actual sport is Rugby League (kind of like Gridiron, but without the protective gear, long stoppages, and one team for offence and defence), but as we're usually fairly dominant (although increasingly notso) in the international matches, the "State of Origin" (Played between the best players from the Australian states New South Wales and Queensland) is widely accepted as the pinnacle of the sport.

Last night provided another amazing contest (with a result to match - QLD winning 16 -14 w00t) and I was interested to see if any foreign viewers (existed, and) shared the same view.

In Australia, Rugby League is one of the 4 codes of football Australians follow during the winter months (the others being Rugby Union, Australian Rules Football, and Soccer [Football]).

Well im sorry, I personally love the sport of rugbie, but cannot watch it, for some reason i cannot really explain.

i can't honestly say i would know what channel i could find a rugbie game on if i wanted to watch one. the staples in america are "american"football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer(football) seems to be the fastest growing sport.

Yeah... maybe it's opposite of ours... we only get those sports on cable on ESPN or ESPN2... maybe try there?
could be that you can't get it over there, which would be a shame, as they actually played a game over there in the 80's to try and promote the sport!
