Tap into DNA?
Knowing a protein sequence helps cure skin cancer?
Mitochondria responsible for how your dna works with the environment?

You skipped a few too many biology classes.

Melanin theories are strange to say the least. The reality is that lighter components of a salad usually pack less nutrients. They are more intelligent and efficient plants.
That is the reason animals prefer darker more nutrient greens-they are simply to dumb to convert those extra nutrients into any form of intellgence hence the easier, tastier, and  more beneficial meal.

ooo ooo ooo..i know...MELANIN!!!

so now you have to PROVE to me..that what i have and can manufacture on MY OWN...isnt good enough for me so that you have to manufacture it, bottle it and smear it on your bodies and the bottle of space shuttles, for protection

Muur feels that because the ceramic coated silicon tiles are black, they must be made of carbon, it's somewhere in this thread.

Also, apparently because sunscreen is white, because its active ingredient is Zinc Oxide, it must be made of melanin because it helps protect against UV rays.
I don't know what you're implying, but you're probably wrong.

dude..thats not jus black paint...its SYNTHETIC MELANIN...CARBON..this is old news...and i really dont care what suncreen is made of...can you understand what its suppose to do?... oR even better...WHY a person would even get skin cancer??of course not...

like i said b4 the gov is offering 2.5 MIL to anyone that can offer info on how to wipe the fungus, bacteria, and viruses off of your mitochondrial dna

lol..the funny thing is..is that it CANT be done

hate to break it to yaw...but if your dna CANT be traced DIRECTLY to africa without going through the middle east..turkey, asia, euro, ect...then you ARE hybrid...devolved...created. the government knows this, not only is there an increase in skin cancer, but other cancers as well.

sorry...i did a quick search...could find the word "MELANIN"...or even "PIGMENT"..so i didnt bother to finish reading...you cant address cancer w/out address in that very important factor

PLUS...health issues that "african americans" face...are CURED by dietary changes...i said b4 that we deal w/ environmental stress TOTALLY diffrently than you.

melanin is a free radical scavanger...so how could it be the cause of cancer at the same time????

pease ask yourself these questions b4 you embarrass yourself again

You just said that "people who can't trace their ancestry back to africa without going through the middle east are more vulnerable to cancers." He proved this statement wrong. Perhaps you shouldn't have made it if it weren't true. Also, you have proven that this ancestry is less important than diet. A better diet therefore trumps the power of melanin by quite a bit.

Bellows, C. F., Belafsky, P., Fortgang, I. S., & Beech, D. J. (2001). Melanoma in African-Americans: trends in biological behavior and clinical characteristics over two decades. Journal of Surgical Oncology, 78(1), 10-16.

Quote
Overall survival time for African-Americans with cutaneous melanoma is significantly shorter than for caucasians with this disease. This trend may be attributable to the fact that African-Americans present with advanced disease. An increased level of awareness among both patients and health-care providers is necessary to identify African-Americans with melanoma at earlier stages of disease and to improve survival.

they CANT observe it "in vivo" (while its in my skin)...theyve spent millions trying...the closest thing they can get, is to extract it from fish, fungus, or the human eye and study it "in vitro" in a controlled environment...even then..they STILL cant find the exact molecular structure of melanin...because there isnt one..it changes based on its environment and this process STARTS in the brain (pitituary) not the skin..if it were that simple..they could jus extract it from MY skin and put it in someone elses...right???..then there WOULD be a cure

No, it does not, it is a compound created by a cellular process that is regulated by DNA.

and this process STARTS in the brain (pitituary) not the skin..

Wrong again.

if it were that simple..they could jus extract it from MY skin and put it in someone elses...right???..then there WOULD be a cure

No, it wouldn't.

Identification of Biomarkers for Early Detection of Environmentally-Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction (R01)

Mitochondrial dysfunction is associated with numerous chronic diseases including Type II diabetes, metabolic syndrome, neurodegenerative diseases, blindness, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Although it is known that mitochondria are a target for numerous environmental compounds, including pesticides, bacterial and fungal toxins, and multiple industrial chemicals, there are only a few well-studied links between disease and mitochondrial dysfunction resulting from environmental exposures. Research in this area is hampered by a lack of tools to measure early markers of mitochondrial dysfunction in human studies, particularly with respect to ambient environmental exposures
