Second that.  Since some of us seem to be relying pretty heavily on what we can conclude by looking at cave paintings, I think we ought to have a look at them ourselves.

I have a preconception of what prehistoric art looks like, and "sufficiently photorealistic for Natural Geographic" is not the description that comes to mind.  But you know, I could be wrong -- maybe the paintings are accurate enough to reveal features of dinosaurs that could not have been imagined or deduced from fossil evidence by primitive man.

I agree with your point, but would you not say that rock wall depictions of dinosaurs has more to do with the dragons thread whereas the subject of "Lucy" has to do with human biology and the theory of evolution?
