How do you know?
If anyone who gets close to the wall is shot by the !EvilGoverment! then there is NO WAY you could know.

So how do you know there is an Ice Wall? Oh, thats right SOMEONE TOLD YOU!!!

Well there has to be something there to keep the oceans from falling off into space. And it makes sense for it to be made of ice, since it's very cold near the edge.
A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.

What's that behind it? Mount Doom? Is that where Sauron runs the conspiracy from?

Yep someone did tell me the earth was round.
I guess someone told you there was a giant ice wall aswell.

So if both ideas were told to people, what makes the ice wall theory more acceptable than the round earth theory?

I would have to go with the ability to accept a safe delusion. Fact is, ALL the evidence points to the round earth, the holes in the flat earth model are huge.

you never seen the ice wall, let alone have the proof of its existance. All you have is someone else word. where did they get the information. not the government, the only one the knows the truth. if someone said raping your dog cures cancer I'll bet you'll do it.

thats funny because the only reason you know for a fact that the earth is round is because someone else told you so.

The proof you want...sounds like you are looking for something specific.  You will never find what you want when you have a closed mind.  Have you ever noticed that if you lose something and then go looking for it, then you may not find the thing you were looking for, but instead find something just as valuable?

The definition as from www.dictionary.reference.com

close-mind·ed (klsmndd, klz-) or closed-mind·ed (klzd-)
adj.

Intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others; stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas.

When have I been intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others and stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas?  I merely said that a person will never really find what they are looking for when they are close-minded.

Not entirely off topic.  Being open-minded is important to FE-RE debate.  One must be open to both sides of the debate.  Nothing is simply black and white.

Then how do you account for the tan of the deer, the red of the rose, and the gold of, well, gold?  The universe is so much more full when looked at with the full range rather than a narrow one, such as that of a black and white view.

Obviously we're not talking about literal "colors".  Good job...

I never said that "everything" is black and white, obviously some things are in between.  I said that "Nothing is black and white" is a lie.

Please don't waste my time with comments that I can so easily correct.

It is a waste of your time, yet you still go and correct what you deem to be false.  Do you think that maybe I say what I say just to see what you say?

Is it wrong to correct things for people who might read these posts later?  I seem to think it is a courteous thing to do.  To me, it's not fair that the next reader has to be fed false information, just because one person was trying to be great holder of knowledge, and see all the angles(aka showoff).

Don't give yourself too much credit, it'll go to your head.

You seem to be lacking basic skills of debating, are you sure you wish to continue?

The false information, are you referring to my "lies" or the idea that the earth is flat?  I never said the earth is flat.

Actually, I was wrong on some points.  A person can, in fact, find whatever they want with a closed mind.  The sad thing is all that they find is what they want to find.  No more, and probably a lot less than they could have found.  As far as things that are simply black and white go, I guess I was being a bit too general there.

So if I closed my mind and looked for a million dollars, would I find it?

Is that a bad thing?  What if that person suddenly had an open mind and then found something that ruins his life?  Which is more sad?
