Conjoined twins [two souls? one? discuss]

I am not a religious sort but I was curious how people like christian rocker, and W would respond to this video:



They share organs and are technically two people but share one body so... are they one or two people, and would you say they posses one or two souls, amongst other issues to discuss in a religious context.

I am confused are you saying THEY have no souls, or no one does. If the former then you are indicating that these twins will not go to heaven? and if the later I need to brush up on what it means to have a soul.

I'm sorry I am apparently showing my ignorance by thinking you were religious based on your arguments in the abortion thread. So you are unable to answer my question. I agree with you but I wanted someone who is religious to give me there opinion on this.

Separate consciousness implies a separate soul, I'd imagine.

Now for a sub-question that I would like to get W.'s opinion on. Obviously there are not many of these type of "twins" that live to that age. I think the main reason is to to abortions when the defect is found. Do you or anyone else warrant this as a reason for abortion or should we have a lot more two headed people walking around.

I am not being rude, I think it is interesting. I'd actually like to meet them. Would be interesting.

I do wonder though how this will go down the line. I believe the video said they want to date individually, have separate carriers, etc. As if that is not hard enough what happens if one of them dies [for instance brain dead]. If nothing else it would be completely tramatic. Best case scenario to get rid of the dead weight taking up blood flow they would have to remove the other head.

It all sounds so, not worth the heartache. They seem to be ok now but...

Also I find it interesting that they can drive. Considering they each control one half of the body seems dangerous. Not to mention if you saw them drive by how would you react? heh.

If one conjoined twin murders, do you put both in jail?

I remember there being a precedent of a different sort but related in England, but I can't seem to find it.  Basically it was a general law that allowed impeding on someones rights if it was necessary due to the alternative.

Yeah, they'd pretty much have to be an accomplice to the murder at minimum. He probably lied and said his conjoined twin didn't help him knowing no matter what they'd have to get the same punishment, and hoping that they might get off.

What they said. Considering each controls a side of the body commiting murder without the others consent would be impossible in my opinion.

I can think of a few scenario's but they aren't likely. IE: one head is asleep and the other is awake. Someone sits next to that head and she murders him with a gun, or knife, etc. In this case I am not sure how you would prove it, and if you could I am not exactly sure what you would do.

The right side could be fighting the left side and trying to make him stop but be unsuccessful.  Depending on the umm.. "Configuration" of the two sides, and what they control etc it could be fairly likely.

Depends, if you are committing a felony any deaths that occur during the crime are counted as murders. If you are robbing a bank and your partner is shot to death in the U.S. you are considered a murderer.

No and no. I don't think we should have "a lot more two headed people walking around," nor do I think that because two people share one body they should be killed.

If they can pass the driving test to prove that they are safe drivers, then let them drive.

I guess a better way to phrase it might be, was there a separate womb? So could both bodies be pregnant at the same time? And the kids be half-siblings rather than full siblings?

Yes, their were two bodies connected at like the shoulders. 2 full female bodies.

I have no idea. It was more listed as a case of a headless body getting prego, not a story about people with sick fetishes.

What W said except that there IS some afterlife, it's just that twins are an unholy abomination and neither has a soul, but in it's place a dark, arcane-mecha heart that pumps black oil instead of blood.
