No, they don't. I think they made this site just to show how far fetched some of the conspiracy theories are.

as hard as it is to believe there are a few Flat earth believers on this forrum. We can never know if they truly believe but they are resolute in their statments.

Also this is a seroius forrum. many very enjoyable debates happen here regularly. weather or not anything is solved or proven they are seroius in intent. Please lurk the next couple boards down and see for yourself. I'd say read the FAQ but I cant hardly get through it without laughing and I have become somewhat of a regular here.

As Sentient said, many people here are playing 'devil's advocate' for the fun of debating, but I assure you, there are real FE'ers here, and I am one of them.

Half of this website is made up of globularist pretenders, but I am a Flat Earther.

Real FEers: Me, Lord Wilmore, Daniel, John Davis, Ski, Levee, liveD_eht_ASAN, 17 November, Tom Bishop, Rogherio, Raa, bullhorn, Euclid

As far as I know the rest are globularists.

1. It's not an obvious fact. This is where you rebut with some type of fallacy.
2. And you bet we get a kick out of it. The hilarity and stupidity that comes out of the average, "educated" person, is more than enough incentive to keep visiting.

Why is there a visible curvature to the Earth, both from the ground and form elevated heights?

I've read the FAQ, and it certainly doesn't tackle this. This is a phenomon that anyone can observe first hand, and so is not the product of any supposed conspiracy.

Also this must be a recent advent for Lord wilmore, he didn't seem to share a view of a FE when he came here.

Ah, after going through his posts I see he changed his view on the shape of the Earth in one day. That is an abrupt change of views.

Completely legitimate though. ::)

I am a FE Devil's Advocate.  This is a debate forum, and it's not unusual for a debater to take the side that he doesn't agree with.  I just happen to find FE more interesting so that's the side I debate for.  To call me a troll for doing so is ludicrous.

And there are legitimate believers on this forum.  You may not believe it, but then again, you have no reason to not believe it so your opinion is worthless.

As for Lived, he never gave me any reason to doubt his sincerity, and if I recall correctly he was a pretty good poster (quality/quantity wise).

Yup, twenty four hours after his first post he switched sides with no apparent sign he had seen any evidence at all proving fe theory. In fact he asked many questions, then switched sides, then claimed all his questions were just flaws with fe theory.

Let's be reasonable and assume he is playing devil's advocate.

As James said, everyone changes their mind at some point, and I have never made a secret of it- I have on many occasions stated the cause of that change. I openly admit that despite having read a great deal of philosophy and engaged in a lot of discussion concerning the nature of reality and the basis of our beliefs, I had never thought to apply any of that to many of the basic beliefs in my life. This site opened my eyes, and I owe it a debt.

Furthermore, I didn't just change my mind 'one day'. After playing 'devil's advocate' here for a couple of months after first joining, I started to seriously consider my beliefs in a way I had never done before, and began to view things through a whole new philosophical perspective. I deliberately stopped posting at this site until I was sure what those conclusions would mean in terms of my worldview (both literal and metaphorical). That took a long time, and much thought and deliberation. It was nearly a year before I returned, and when I came back, I came back with a different mindset and totally different beliefs to those I had when I left.

It may seem (or have seemed) abrupt to you, but I can assure you, it was in no way abrupt for me- it was a long, drawn out process. I spent that year basically enveloped in thought about what I believed and why, often to the detriment of my personal life and education. I'm glad that period of my life is behind me, but I also know that if I had the chance to do it all over again, I would do it the same way. I owe my success now to my strife then, and I owe all of it to this site and the perspective it gave me.

In my opinion, RET is second only to pyschiatry in terms of shaky foundations, but that's another discussion. Suffice to say I've often seen it indulge peoples' problems instead of curing them, with very negative results.

Psychoanalysis dies the death of a thousand qualifications, a psychiatrist or psychoanalyst can read meaning into whatever phenomena they want, modifying their theory all the time so that it never fails to provide an (empty) explanation of what is presented to it.

Same with globularism.
