What were you doing before you had the idea that the Earth was flat? I mean was in common practice in Medieval villages you may have lived in? Reading too many discworld novels? It's just I was really wondering how you all came across the idea of a "flat" Earth.

theres an FAQ?
I always suspected the Earth was flat, but I believe the first time I really came across evidence for this was when I read Earth Not a Globe, probably the most important science textbook of the last 500 years, and countenanced the great many experiments which prove it to be flat beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Earth Not a Globe is the only science text book which seeks only by inquiry, without assumption or hypothesis to get in the way. All other works, such as Copernicus' "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium," start with many assumptions such as the earth being a sphere and the earth being a part of the solar system. Never are any of those things demonstrated from scratch - they're just assumed.
Besides, perhaps FET is a conspiracy too.
It is just the way it is, you understanding it doesn't concern me.
If Gayer doesn't remember you, you might as well do yourself a favor and become an hero.
there is a difference between touching a muff and putting your hand into it isn't there?

In my opinion Rowbotham assumes quite much in his book. There are many and many sentences which consist the sentence "if the earth were a globe then..." or some variations of it.

But the curvature of the earth is not detectable at the ground level.
