It would be a Psychology experiment wouldn't it , the study of the mind and human behaviour. Sociology is the study of the function and structure of society .How you can make a Sociological hypothesis from a web forum beats me . But anyway if this is a few rich kids doing a study then give me an email fellas . I've studied them both (mainly psych).
I wrote on another post that flat earth theory mainly comes from the Washington Irving book about Christopher Columbus so I wondered where these guys were coming from. :?:

I used to be confused about the Earth being flat. Since posting on this goofy site, .... those voices in my head have gone silent. Thank You for the Psychology treatments, but now after those electrical shocks to the thinker, .... this bloody computer keeps re-booting.

It's not a sociological experiment, at least not that I know of (and I'm one of the flat-earthers). Of course we have no way of knowing that the board isn't an experiment which dupes RE'ers and FE'ers, but that seems a bit silly.

Actually, I find the idea that it could all be A) a joke that got out of hand, B) a sociological experiment, or C) a school project to be quite plausible.

Despite most visitors to this site missing the point (I think ;)) this is still one of the best sites I've visited.
The debates and discussions that go on here, although sometimes tainted by people having a laugh or a vent, are some of the most intelligent I've seen.
I was starting to think that no one really had differing opinions anymore, or if they did, they weren't commited enough to get in a good debate/discussion/argument/rant about it!
well done lads - whether you believe in FE (which is fine) or RE (also fine) this is a top site :)
