A query
« on: June 03, 2009, 03:13:13 AM »
I believe in the flat earth, but last summer I noticed something I could not explain. And I can not find the answer on this sight or anywhere else on the net either.

I live in New Zealand. I understand why places in different "hemispheres" experience seasons at different times. But in the summer, in New Zealand the further south you go the longer the day gets. I live in Dunedin near the south tip of New Zealand and the summer day is more than an hour longer than it is in Auckland which is close to the northern tip (the sun is always in the north at noon even at the height of summer and at the most northerly place in New Zealand)..

I can not explain this with any FE model I know.

Hope you can help ;)

(edited for acuracy)

Probably bendy light, which has never been observed in laboratories and has no known mechanism or law behind it.

uh it's because the FE is a much bigger disc than previously thought. And we have now figured out that due to UA pushing mostly in the middle (North pole) it has wrapped backwards arround on itself. Unfortunatley this wraping effect now makes the FE look alot like a RE and thus when the observer is close to the south pole in summe the days get longer.

Or maybe you are the first FE'er ever to make an observation about the sun without writing it off as a NASA cover up or a faked photo, or 'bendy light'
Your god was nailed to a cross. Mine carries a hammer...... any questions?

Probably bendy light, which has never been observed in laboratories and has no known mechanism or law behind it.

Unfortunately As I understand bendy light (which is not very well) it would not help and would seem to hinder.
If all sunlight bends naturally upwards then the sun would disappear even earlier and in the north west. In reality it is last seen in the south west (in the summer).
If bendy light is the cause then the light that eventually gets to me would have to have bent a lot less than the light that eventually reaches someone further north (which has had less distance to travel). And would not only need to have bent upwards but north as well.

Mere logic is no obstacle to a FEer!

(I'm not a FEer, BTW. I'm just parodying their usual responses)

this  is explained by the suns orbit very well

Please elaborate for us. How does the suns orbit explain this?

BTW Orbit is a RE term referring to how things go around a shpere. Your guna need to get some FE terms to use.

Betonim, I'm guessing that you're not actually a Flat Earth Believer. I think you are only posing as an FEer so they will finally listen to you for once.
