If the earth is flat as you say, how the hell do you account for the distortion that takes place when you put the earth onto a map?

Because globular cartography is incorrect. Plotting a map of the world on a flat polar projection with the North Pole at the centre yields an accurate representation of the shape and form of the Earth.

Nothing yet, as all I've seen are RE maps that have been stretched and distorted onto a disc. Unless you are suggesting that making such transformations to a RE map results in an accurate FE map.

Pretty sure there are a couple of cartographically accurate FE maps floating around the net, with the continents of the outer hemiplane at their actual sizes.

Those are pretty much the actuals sizes of Australia. It's the ocean distances which are wrong on the Round Earth, because compressing and distorting those means everyday people who measure landmasses or traverse them won't question the globe maps since the continents are the correct size.

if you keep all the land masses the same as those recorded in round earth and change those of the seas, you start actually running out of space to fit all the the land mass in the northern hemisphere into the northern hemisphere (assuming that the FE circumference at the equator is the same as RE - which no one will confirm on my other post and i claimed a win :P). If the FE'ers cant even give us a distance for the equator, then how can they actually make an accurate map, if they have no measurments. RE has measurments, that fit our map.

For what reason do you say that the measurments of land should be any more accurate then the measurments of the sea?

I don't agree with the classification of that map as "official". I know for a fact it was created not with the intent to accurately represent the exact shape or size of the continents, but rather to illustrate the idea that the Earth's shape is roughly that which is expressed by a polar projection.

Then that means that the longitude system in RE is wrong.  In FET, longitude lines diverge south of the equator while in RET longitude lines converge.  It would be interesting to see how lines of longitude would be correctly drawn on a FE map of Australia.

The fact that you're are so quick to dismiss the official map as inaccurate is pretty damning. There's clearly no more work to be done. TFES has got it wrong.
Accurate representation of shape and form does not mean scale. It is not inaccurate because we never stated it was with a true scale.
