If this theory is really true, then why would NASA keep this from the public? Why would they want everyone to think that the earth is round? I don't understand it.

Because they obviously would make more money by lying to the government (nevermind the fact that it was the government controlling all space-related stuff a couple years before NASA was formed. The government would by then know if the earth was round or flat, and would ofcourse not post money into NASA if they did not produce what they said they would) instead of selling all those frigging hi-tech equipment they must have invented in order to keep all this a secret.

I have heard some pretty far out stuff NASA have invented according to Flat Earthers, and they would make billions by selling them to the military and private companies etc. But instead they keep it to themselves in order to keep a silly lie going. Yeah, makes sense.

Not really, because it still doesn't explain WHY they would lie bout it. just for shits and giggles? i think not.

To make money.  Standard FET states that all space agencies are hoaxes designed to steal the money given for research, and they spend only enough to cover up the holes that a fake space program would create.  Somehow, NASA's meager budget is meant to cover up for the lack of satellites and total inaccuracy of ALL measurements related to cosmology.

I find it hard to believe that, and I apologize. I really don't think that NASA would do that. And, also, how would it work that earth is stationary and the sun, moon and stars move? The moon orbits earth, which orbits the sun, which orbits around the center of the galaxy.

I strongly believe in Round Earth, but you obviously have not even bothered to delve into this site.  Why would you declare the site useless if you haven't even bothered to explore enough to find and read the FAQ?  It explains all of the questions you just asked.  Perhaps not satisfactorily, or plausibly, but it does answer them.

I'm sorry you're right. I just read some of the FAQ, and it does explain my questions...not plausibly as you said, but it does answer them. And, that is why I still believe in round earth. But, I will attempt to go deeper into the site, and try to understand this theory more.

Actually, I would advise using the forum as an opportunity to develop an ideal of "question everything."  Many (I don't know if it's "most") of the regulars that (appear) to argue in favor of FET actually are encouraging speculation in the interest of rigorous investigation of all theories.  There are, of course, some crackpots (Tom Bishop comes to mind), but users such as Roundy are people who merely find speculation interesting, and use FET as an analogy for rejecting the bias towards "standard" theories that pervades modern scientific communities.

Take everything with a grain of salt.  The main point is to be thorough, assume nothing (about either RET or FET), and stay on your toes.

I have noticed that through looking around the site. Many people say things that, in reality, prove the opposite of what they're trying to prove. It's quite funny, actually. And thanks for the warning. I'll be careful

FEt also must face the lone-informer problem. Even if NASA get lots of money by lying about the shape of the Earth, an individual would stand to gain even more than his/her NASA job would ever pay. If Woodward and Bernstein could bring down the Nixon Administration with the obtuse leads from Mark Felt, surely in 50 years, some reporter would have exposed the Conspiracy.

Yeah. If the conspiracy was true, then it would've been exposed to the public long ago.

You attack a strawman. The reporter involved would have the evidence to support the claim, and no reasonable person would dismiss it without a second thought.

2. I would prefer not to be insulted (if you're not refering to me then I apologize for 1 + 2)
3. I would be skeptical if someone who used to work at NASA claimed that the earth was flat. But, if he showed proper diagrams, as in pictures from outer space, then I MIGHT believe him. I'm not that closed minded.
