Working Theory...
« on: April 17, 2009, 07:25:16 AM »
I think most "FE Believers" are not really believers and know that any experiment like this one will make arguing for FE even harder. There is no clear argument against this experiment since there is no "conspiracy" argument, no competing model that predicts these results for a flat Earth, ("bendy light is not even accepted by the real, totally convinced 'believers'), no convincing explanation of why should we entertain complex explanations with an ever more complicated "dark energy" when a simple round Earth models works fine.

Above borrowed from the Equinox thread... in observance of the fact that NOT ONE FE conducted the experiment.

Great observation and point, FE's were given a simple experiment to do that could have given them the beginning of the understanding that we do indeed live on a Round Earth. One that they could have done themselves and seen with their own eyes without Government interference.

I am beginning to think that the majority of the FE's don't actually believe the FE Theory and they are simply trolls that know the absurdity of the FE theory but get off on Whimsy and Circular Logic as being argumentative is one of the few things that entertains them.  :'(

Unless they are actually People from the Hollow Earth Society throwing us off their track.  ;)

No, I firmly believe in FE. I challenge you to change my opinion.
I don't remember anything. Well, I do, but it's really vague. Like I was on drugs the whole time.

Only you can change your opinion, others can only present facts/evidence/reasons to you so that you can think about it.

Ok, I went to the library and couldn't find any books proving the earth is a sphere. I did however find a very good book by Clive Cussler.

That's the thing. I guess that there isn't books that prove directly that earth is round, but there are books which say that earth is round if you look at right places. Children section of library I guess.
But I bet that you don't find any book at library which proves that earth is flat either. And you can't find any book about flat earth science but you can find surely plenty about round earth science.

Clearly you've never read Earth Not a Globe.

Clearly you haven't read it. It is not book about flat earth science. It is a book with speculations and experiments. Not one science thing about flat earth.

Well I went to the children section of the library and found a book about talking dragons. I guess dragons are about as real as a round earth.

There are couple of possibilities why you didn't find any. It's not library which holds such books or you really didn't search for any. And asking from librarian for guidance is sometimes good thing. Also, a term children refers usually to human being below the age of 18 years(maybe a little less in some countries). So, widen your search a little and include other age groups, not only kindergarten section.

And what do you think he did say with his message? I asked him to look books about round earth at children section of library. He stated that he only found book about dragons and that means he didn't find any about round earth. So, I brought up couple possibilities why he didn't find any. What was wrong with that?

Oh, I see. You were responding to his message from several posts back. You know, it would have made sense to quote the message you were responding to, as opposed to one which was irrelevant to your response.

I did quote it as you can see - http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=28353.msg681016#msg681016
And I didn't answer to his message several posts back. I answered to this which quote was inside my post.

Oh well... I asked him to go and find books. He said that he only found book about dragons. He clearly said with that that he didn't find any books which I asked to find. If you asked someone to get pizza from shop and he comes back with cake what possibilities then we have? That he misunderstood your order or that there wasn't any pizza at shop?  Is it really so hard to read between the lines a little.

In the part that you quoted, he said he found a book on dragons. There was no "only" involved.
