This is my first post.
I think this question is fairly straight foreword, and poignant. Its addressed to both sides of the arguement.
What would it take to convince you that the earth was actually Round? Flat? Geodesic?
To the FEers: The only way this theory works is if there IS actually a conspiracy as described in the FAQ, therefore, NASA imaging and other government information must be disregarded. But what about a major university? What about a private contractor? At what point would you believe someone who said "I have seen/have a picture of the earth, and it is flat." Would they have to be a close friend? Would you only truly believe if you saw it with your own eyes?
To the REers (myself included): This whole blog seems ludicrous, silly, and outrageous. Yet here we are. I very vehemently believe in the spherical nature of the earth. What would it take to change your mind? A strong arguement from someone in the blog? A Book? A paper published by a major university? Pictures? Would you only truly believe if you saw it with your own eyes?
To those who believe that the Earth is Geodesic: Pick a side, we're at war.
The point of these questions is twofold:
1)If your answer to these questions is "I would have to see it with my own eyes," or something very close to that, you don't belong here. When the conditions by which you would believe are unrealistic, you need to be taking a long hard look at yourself before you do anything else.
2) To hopefully advance the conversation a little from the same old debate, to something a little more focused and directed.
So, what would it take for you to believe?
