As far as I know all those points have been covered somewhere on this forum. I'm very sceptical, but my experiment should help.

There is scientific proof that our eye sight is limited. Try standing on top of a large hill or mountain. You don't see the gound curving away from you, you simply see as far as you can, or as far as your eyes allow you to.

*sigh*
Yes, they do answer those questions, you need to read more than just the question titles.

The FAQ makes it clear that:
- The earth is surrounded by a giant ice wall, which is what you would come across if you went directly north.
- The concept that men (or anything capable of taking photos) have been in space is farce
- No one knows what's in the Earths core. As it happens, that's true regardless. It is hypothesised but has not been observed.
- The day and night cycle is clearly explained, so I won't even mention that
- Eclipses are an extension of the other light/dark related things, also explained

So yes, all of his questions ARE given rational explanations. Please read things thoroughly before complaining about them.

Yes, i can see they are explained. But they make absolutely no sense scientificly and have no evidence to back them up.

It's self-evident. The earth seems flat so you should be providing evidence to support your claim, not the other way around. Photos are easy to manufacture, so they don't count. Provide a valid argument and we'll refute it, but just saying "it doesn't make sense" and "prove it!" is going to get you nowhere.

Also: lurk more and read the big threads.

instead of dodging my questions why not awnser the questions. Give the evidence to back up your side of the story and i will give the facts.

'fraid it doesn't work that way. No one is out to convert you, but if you have any specific questions then search the forums to see if it's been answered already, if not then start a thread and people will do their best to explain it to you. It's no use just hoping someone will provide you little bits of information to refute.

Marencian, you are in fact incorrect about the traveling north, the FE model suggests that the north pole is at the middle, not the ice wall.

Ice Wall=south
North Pole=north

I would like to point out (And not just to this thread but to everyone) that the Flat Earth Theory is not merely a theory but a belief.  Those who subscribe to it will fill certain discrepencies with their own explanations or label them as phenomena.

Basically, you're going to need to do more than point out shortcomings within the theory to disprove it.

Also, no one attacked your point of view; a counterattack is somewhat silly.

Really. Then explain why I can see the moon, or the sun, or distant stars... all of which are FAR more distant than any spot on the earth.

Is that right. Then I should not be able to see the sun or moon when they rise over the horizon... since there is so much atmosphere between us then.

Also, My view of the stars should be a cone above me... since the atmosphere to the sides is limiting my vision.

Try again, hmm?

The earth and stars are never close to ground level. Their appearance near the horizon is an optical illusion; there is never actually all that atmosphere between the sun and you.

Really! Then wouldn't this 'optical illusion' have a distortion associated with it? I would expect a spherical or parabolic distortion based on the depth of atmosphere and the actual angle to the observed body. Where is this distortion? I don't see it.

As to the sun... Are you saying that the amount of atmosphere between me and the sun is constant? Then how does it orbit the disc of the earth while at the same time the atmosphere is constant over the earth?

Ok guys a real simple way to prove the world is round .
take a level simple bubble level like has been used for centuries .
then erarrect a perfect  level pole up and down  errect another 1ft from the first and measure the distance at the bottom and the top .  the top will be wide because it follows the curve of the earth . you can also do this using a simple weight and string from a high building .
What is stupid is ignoring  nature . go to the beach and look at a ship as it goes over the horizon ( the CURVE of the earth) Gee whiz how did that happen . Duh the earth is round  .
as for those following the false prophacy of some brain dead moron from the 1800s   Get a life and join reality .
This bull is worse than one would expect from a bi-polar person.
you all should have your lythium levels check orstart taking some .
maybe this is a product of too much modern chemistry , guys stay away from meth and cocain  its destroyed your brains
ust say No to drugs , looks like some missed that message .

your eyes are limited by peripheral vision, hence the appearance of the earth being round (spherical)
