You realize that man has traveled ALL THE WAY AROUND THE EQUATOR, not in the southern hemisphere or the northern hemisphere, along the equator. That is proof that the world is round, or else they would have found the edge of the 'flat earth'.

There was absolutely no uncertainty measurement in that work. Given his methodology about the only shape he could exclude is that the Earth was a hollow sphere and he was on the inside I'd imagine. It was an interesting idea but he had no real sensitivity.

Semantics. We both realize that he means that one can travel forward (without turning in either direction) on a RE and eventually come back to one's starting point.

Actually this is quite interesting. As neither magnetic pole matches up with the geographic pole. One part of the souther hemisphere is going to be 60-70 thousand miles from the magnetic south pole. I'd have to think about this but im pretty sure this would mess up compass navigation. A long way from the Noth magnetic pole a compass would give massively different result for FE and RE would it not? I maybe wrong i'm thinking as I write here but I can;t see how the predictions for both theories would be similar.

Have you even read the FAQ? I mean, like any of it? Your experiment is assuming a certain distance between the sun and the Earth. I can call someone across town and compare the location of the Goodyear blimp that's overhead with them, it's not the curvature of the Earth that gives us different readings but the simple fact that the angle to the blimp is different for each of us.

Your point is good, but your argument still fails. Place the call, do the trig, and then weep for the time you wasted believing a theory that you could disprove so easily.

BTW, my favorite proof that the Earth is round comes up on the first days of Spring and Fall, when every observer (save those on the poles) on Earth sees the Sun rise directly to the East, and set directly to the West. (City Planners anticipate that the East-West-North-South aligned city grid of streets will be more congested with the Sun blinding drivers that morning more than most other days.) The pole-based observers see the Sun at the horizon all day long. This proves that the Sun is not a spotlight and that the Sun must be millions of miles away.

Belief requires faith.  "God said so" or the equivalent in your belief system.  Someone told you it was true and you blindly accept it, no matter how silly it may sound.

Once you have done that, you have narrowed your world view to those things that agree with your faith.

The debate about the Catholic church is a good case in point.
