A better question is why are you a hypocrite? Your signature says: "'Belief gets in the way of learning. If you believe something, you've closed your mind to any further thought. I know some things, little things, not the nine million names of God."
Yet you defend FET now see concrete evidence of the other side of the earth, or see the whole earth from way up in space. Touch, if you can, the spotlight sun and moon. Travel to the edge of the earth throw your worst enemy off and watch as we all accelerate away from them. Then you will know the earth is flat not just believe it is. Your defense of the FET is all the proof i need to show your hypocrisy.
You, my dear Ravenwood, are a believer like it or not.
If you disagree without knowing the question then why do you agree with FET. I have seen your posts. Don't lie to me.
Sigh. Did you look at the other sentence, by any chance? I am a FE'er because 10,000 people come here to defend the RE and I can get more debates in being a FE'er.
I don't believe anything that I haven't checked for myself. Until then it's conjecture, theories, hypothesizes.
Belief requires faith. "God said so" or the equivalent in your belief system. Someone told you it was true and you blindly accept it, no matter how silly it may sound.
Once you have done that, you have narrowed your world view to those things that agree with your faith.
The debate about the Catholic church is a good case in point.
Kingman used to reject anything that didn't meet his belief system.
Americans believe they are the shit...
(Well, to be fair, everyone likes their country better than any other, its just that Americans are louder about it.)
Belief closes the eyes and the mind.
