Cthulhu
« on: February 17, 2009, 02:24:05 PM »
Anyone else here subscribe to the cult of the sleeping Dread Lord? Great Cthulhu is the god of pure terror, chaos and amorality who sustained the Old Ones' corpse city of R'lyeh and now waits there dreaming as described in the following mantra:

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh C'thulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Once awakened from His slumber, the Dread Lord shall resume His reign over this world and rid it of its blasphemy. Those who worship Him and work to hasten His glorious resurrection shall be rewarded with the most merciful fate: a quick death. The rest of humanity shall be driven insane and tortured for as long as it pleases the Dread Lord (who will eventually consume their souls). The revival of Great Cthulhu and His horrifying subjects from the sunken R'lyeh is nigh; to realize Him is to realize truth. Liberate the Greatest of the Old Ones, brothers and sisters, and ye shall liberate thy selves.

C'thulhu fhtagn.

Cthulhu waits dreaming.

Never cared much for Lovecraft.
He was certainly an inadequate medium (as all mortals are), but he served his purpose sufficiently.

Read Kitab al-Azif by Abdul Alhazred.

I don't remember anything. Well, I do, but it's really vague. Like I was on drugs the whole time.

I can assure you that it is very real. Lovecraft merely popularized it.

The consequences of rejecting Great Cthulhu are much less rewarding. Just saying...

Great Cthulhu shall enter your dreams and drive you mad. He will toy with you and cause you unspeakable torment and suffering until your pain ceases to amuse Him and He devours your soul.

I can be pretty boring when I want to. My soul probably tastes rather bland... would he use any condiments or spices?

You shall be free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside, shouting and killing and reveling in joy as only the Old Ones may instruct. Your world will flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom. Then Great Cthulhu will kill you. Such an honour is beyond comparison.

Well either way I get killed by the cuckoo. Besides I have a feeling I like the kind of joy as only the Old Ones don't instruct.

This creature is clearly inferior to the one true god Klegsczourr. I'll give my life to him, thank you very much.

Most of those books make more senses then most religions holy books.
