but it hurts him more than just fining him a $100

You're right.  How will he ever afford to live?
Why justify an illegitimate attack with a legitimate response?

So it is ok to ruin poor people and only punish rich people with fines that may just have laing around in their couch cushions

I get what you are saying, I thought you knew that.  I simply disagree on your definition of fair and just.  I asked earlier who you thought would get the short end of the stick if laws were made subjectively fair and not equal.  The laws here, for the most part are designed around the 'everyman' which lends to being unfair at times due to it's very nature such as letting 10 guilty men free to save one innocent.  All systems have inherent flaws.  Anyway, the point is if lawmaking was subjective based on factors such as wealth the laws would be skewed to the side of the wealthy.  By keeping it 100% equal in all ways you are actually protecting the less fortunate from concerns much greater than a hundred dollar speeding ticket.

How is a percentage based fine subjective

Whats not equal about everyone paying the same percentage? It would be unequal if the percentage rose but it doesn't.

Saying that it is ok to fine one person more than another for the same crime based any factor whatsoever other than the nature of the crime is a subjective opinion and in my  own opinion a form of discrimination.

An equally fair Fine is just fine if it's fairly funny. :P

or that the Earth is a sphere until such time as I stand upon the Icewall and personally see that it is a Flat Disk.

In my opinion is more discriminatory to fine people different percentages of their income as that changes the effect of the punishment.
