Just some questions...
« on: January 21, 2009, 10:04:59 PM »
If earth really was 'Flat' then why do all of those live radars have it as round and not flat? And if it was flat then how is it that when you fly straight across the world, you can end up back where you came from? And if earth is flat it would not spin, so how do you explain time zones, Time, and days? And if Earth was flat wouldnt people who live in Australia have a high chance of falling in to space? And if the government is hiding that the earth is flat, Then what would their reason be?

Haha this entire comunity is bull... I started laughing at this ROFL, so genius what about this...

"One of the oldest proofs of the Earth's shape, however, can be seen from the ground and occurs during every lunar eclipse. The geometry of a lunar eclipse has been known since ancient Greece. When a full Moon occurs in the plane of Earth's orbit, the Moon slowly moves through Earth's shadow. Every time that shadow is seen, its edge is round. Once again, the only solid that always projects a round shadow is a sphere."

...Exactly

Yeah, They are not open to new thoughts.

Earth would have to be the only flat planet!

Then perhaps you should read it again.

Once again, the only solid that always projects a round shadow is a sphere."

...Exactly

A Lunar Eclipse occurs about twice a year when a satellite of the sun passes between the sun and moon.

This satellite is called the Shadow Object. Its orbital plane is tilted at an angle of about 5o10' to the sun's orbital plane, making eclipses possible only when the three bodies (Sun, Object, and Moon) are aligned and when the moon is crossing the sun's orbital plane (at a point called the node). Within a given year, considering the orbitals of these celestial bodies, a maximum of three lunar eclipses can occur. Despite the fact that there are more solar than lunar eclipses each year, over time many more lunar eclipses are seen at any single location on earth than solar eclipses. This occurs because a lunar eclipse can be seen from the entire half of the earth beneath the moon at that time, while a solar eclipse is visible only along a narrow path on the earth's surface.

Total lunar eclipses come in clusters. There can be two or three during a period of a year or a year and a half, followed by a lull of two or three years before another round begins. When you add partial eclipses there can be three in a calendar year and again, it's quite possible to have none at all.

The shadow object is never seen because it orbits close to the sun. As the sun's powerful vertical rays hit the atmosphere they will scatter and blot out nearly every single star and celestial body in the sky. We are never given a glimpse of the celestial bodies which appear near the sun during the day - they are completely washed out by the sun's light.

Samuel Birley Rowbotham estimates the Shadow Object to be a few miles in diameter. Since it is somewhat close to the sun the manifestation of its penumbra upon the moon appears as a magnified projection. This is similar to how during a shadow puppet show your hand's shadow can make a large magnified projection upon your bedroom wall as you move it closer to the flashlight.

Samuel Birley Rowbotham has provided equations for finding the time, magnitude, and duration of a Lunar Eclipse at the end of Chapter 11 of Earth Not a Globe.

Then Is earth the only flat planet? and if we dig under earth then why dont we fall through?

And I am open to new theories, I just need some good proof first. Which you guys do not have

Fail. The earth is not a planet.
Ok here's my proof the earth is a SPHERE!

Have you ever looked up at the sky? The clouds are flat, am I right? Now the clouds are constantly moving around the world. "Hovering" if you will. Let's say the world was flat. A cloud would just fly into space...

Also here's the classic trick... Go to your restroom, and turn on the sink, now go to China and turn it on there. How is it different?

Oh and here's another trick

Step 1 - Go to your Kitchen

Step 2 - Get a knife...

And I am also open to theories, as my friend ElleF is.

And if you guys are paying 5,000 for us to prove the earth's round, I'm buying a plane.

Please read Earth Not a Globe cover-to-cover so that you understand the basis for our theory before making such an outlandish assumption.

With Earth being round there is more Earth to dig through. And When you hit the middle, you die from heat.

Ok now I think you "FES" are thinking to hard... Ok the Earth is flat... Now what...? Who really cares man, I mean maybe NASA could've ripped off the goverment, and taken our tax money, but who really cares? I mean there are other diseases in this world that you guys could've cure such as cancer, but you guys chose to prove to people the earth is flat. Why do you guys have such desire to prove this to us...

Maybe YOU guys are the conspiracy, and possible YOU guys are the liars. For the person who proves this world is flat, shall probably make millions. Which I read in the F.A.Q, but you guys said "We can't do it our they'll kill us," I'll do it if I had the time and money. Why are you so chicken... If I died, at least I'd know that generations after me should know the truth.

Why not expect? You guys expect that the earth is flat, and we expect that we can dig through our garden. Deal with it, we each have our own opinions, and that my friend is perfectly fine by the United States of America. It's called freedom of speech, and my dad went to war for it.
