Still, this is serious, I want to know your opinions.
Hitler was acting in the best interests of Germany in the mid 30ies. Sometime between 1934 and 1938, he began acting in his best interests, and in the interest of owning a bit more of the world than he was controlling then.
He was, before his brain went south, a gifted speaker, capable of swaying thousands of people to his point of view. By accusing unpopular portions of the population of horrible crimes and actions against the State, he eliminated any chance of organized opposition from within Germany. After all, if you disagree with Herr Hitler, you must be a Jew sympathizer or worse.
At the opening of the war, Hitler was quite sane, although it appears that at this point he has slipped over the line from using scapegoats to feed the mob to believing that some people are actually less than others by reason of their race only.
By 1943, he was severely unstable and his list of mental conditions would fill the page. His career, as tracked by his speeches, is a slow fade into insanity by a brilliant man with a true gift for giving the mob everything they wanted while taking everything he wanted.
From 1924 to 1933, he went from prison, (Tried for High Treason after a failed coup.) to Chancellor of the state.
I think his dictator ambitions, racial beliefs and sociopaths ways were evil as hell.
I also think that had he gotten a bit of treatment, he might have brought Germany to the prosperity he promised when he was appointed Chancellor in 1933.
