Discussion on the M word
« on: December 16, 2008, 03:19:49 PM »
I truthfully think religious views on sexual behavior and masturbation are completely ridiculous. The reasons they claim for being against it change with the culture. At one time masturbating would make you go insane, now it will cause you to be abusive. When in fact it is an activity that relieves stress, helps to prevent prostate problems later in life, and is frankly fun.

http://www.teensagainstporn.com/index.php

this link caused me to think about this again. Why would you doom someone to a life of sexual repression and possibly cause medical issues in their life later on?

oh... i thought you were speaking of the M word game. i was all exited  :(

masturbation is healthy. to some levels. it can lead to serious problems if done too often, i think.

oh and have have to say a quote form my friend:
Quote
Masturbation is like procrastination, they are both fun while they last but in the end you are only screwing yourself.
im sure he was not the first to say that.

It also helps people with a large sex drive and a semi frigid girlfriend.

Hey, . I thought you were a christian. Girlfriends are not for sex, they are for escorting to places of their interest in order to make them find you interesting enough that you can ask their father if they'll marry you.

"Hey don't knock masturbation. It's sex with someone I love."

With the required Woody Allen quote out of the way, I can answer your question Raist: one would do such a thing, if one were a self-righteous hypocrite. The deluded references to omnipotent sky-beings and 'hand + hand = telepathy' tell us everything we need to know. Some idiot 'spills his seed' in Genesis, 'god' says something along the lines of 'wherefore I slew him also' (I think it's written a narrative in the bible, but whatever), and bingo bango, it's time to ignore the consequences and start taking things literally.
"I want truth for truth's sake, not for the applaud or approval of men. I would not reject truth because it is unpopular, nor accept error because it is popular. I should rather be right and stand alone than run with the multitude and be wrong." - C.S. DeFord

I just think trying to blame porn for assaults on girls is way over the line. Also the stories on here where the girls talk about how it's their fault for not trusting god, and people give them scripture. It makes me lose faith in society. Yes scripture can be very uplifting, my facebook even has a bible verse of the day because they do make me happy, but these girls need a good psychiatrist. They'll be dealing with these issues for the rest of their lives if they don't get help. The answer isn't sex is evil, it should be informing them of ways they can protect themselves. Numbers they can call for help. Prevention is the key, not trusting someone else to protect you.

Yes informing people about numbers to call to prevent sexual assaults. Norway is fucked up, next newsflash?

Let's face it, anyone who played doctors and nurses as a child has fond memories of it.

It's easier to control a repressed population. 1984 has a good bit about half way through about control through controlling sexuality.

A significant portion of irrational energetic acts are simply sex allowed to rot. Without sex and masturbation too many forgotten erections are replaced with flags and rifles.

I agree Raist.  I love how people are all about the saving sex for marriage idea.  What do you do if you get married and you aren't sexually compatible with your spouse?  And I love how the churches claim to have a monopoly on knowing what real love is.  The only thing they left out is sexual love.  Not lust, love.  The sad thing is a lot of teens go "fall in love" with eachother's personalities and physical appearance then jump into a doom marriage not realizing they don't love eachother sexually.

As for masturbation, I don't understand why people are so weird about it.  I love how especially women refuse to admit to it.  It's natural to want to feel good and masturbation fulfills that.  Most women get all bashful when you bring it up, like it's something so horrific they just can't say it.
You think that a photograph is indisputable evidence?  Would you like me to show you a photograph of Barack Obama having sex with a gorilla?

"Those guys" is only one man, a psychologist named Thore Langefeldt.

Also, to get back on topic, masturbation is not, and has never been, a destructive activity. It is an autosexual act, which means it's got nothing to do with extramarital sex, or premarital sex. And sexual purity is a lie. If everyone was "sexually pure", the human race would die out in a couple of generations.

I now have my favorite advice. A dude wants advice on staying a virgin til marriage with his new girlfriend. (since they want a virgin wife, they have to grab them young and pressure them into the whole "lets be together forever thing". Then the girl fucks around, he finds out and cries like a little girl, just good lulz.) They tell him to make sure he has stopped masturbating, and I can say for a fact, recent masturbation is one of the few things that stops sex. It's the reason I didn't fuck up my current relationship.

If they want the kids virgins til marriage (which could be noble, considering unwanted pregnancy, and STD's), why do these groups have an urge to also curtail sexual behavior that could help prevent sex before marriage.

Oh, I know you're not. I just try to emulate these people's stance on the issue. I am all for masturbation. In fact, I remember 20 mins ago...

Lol. I don't always like masturbation. Sometimes I like to get girls to do it for me instead, just not with their hands.

How so? Masturbating and touching a child are two separate entities. Would you say sex is evil?

Kids don't need to be taught to masturbate, it comes naturally.
