I dont have a stance yet.

I have no idea what it is.

That hardly prevented you from forming one on gay marriage.

How the fuck would you know that>

I never gave one single reason for my stance. I just stated what it was.

Can you be anymore disingenous than that?

Exactly. You are not gay, yet you for some reason care whether they marry or not. You know nothing about being gay, you don't know the cause, you just have a built in opinion.

I don't believe people are born gay.
  • Why not?
  • Did you decide to be heterosexual, or were you born that way?
  • Did you know natural animals have homosexual offspring? (for the religious people)

Statistically, any child after the first is more likely to be gay, this includes if you are raised as an adopted only child. Yet it is completely their decision.

It is their decision to be gay? How so?

Edit: I'm not talking about bisexuals that choose to have same sex relations.

I find it interesting that people are changing their votes to "No".

Anyway, here's Keith Olbermann on the issue:

Ah. I thought that sounded strange coming from you.

I find it interesting that people are changing their votes to "No".

Who changed their votes to no? I have some questions, and if they are serious opinions they should be open to discussing it.

I'm sorry, the preceding statement was supposed to make it sound like it was most likely an inborn trait.

So what's the argument for making it illegal and furthering political discrimation against a minority?

I just don't think its necessary. I'd be fine with gay marriage being allowed but I don't expect it to be legalized in, say, Saudi Arabia. The same goes with America, and if the public doesn't want it then there is nothing wrong with an identical legal arrangement with different name.

I already explained SW. It structurally promotes additional discrimation. I now see that you questioned it earlier, and I never got a chance to respond. Although I am a bit confused.

Are you saying that we shouldn't take steps to prevent discrimation, because discrimation happens anyways?
I'm off to class. I'll be back.

I just think if we apply different names to the two institutions laws will intentionally discriminate against gays. Tax breaks will apply to "married people" a new tax would apply to "all unions." If you give them different names, you make them different in the law.

Read the 14th amendment and what it stands for.  Separate but equal laws were found to be illegal by the supreme court.

Right view, wrong reasons. If the public wanted you dead would it be okay? Gays should not be allowed to marry. It is creepy.

Lowers the numbers of partners for gays, thereby slowing the spread of AIDS and saving lives.

You should not be allowed to live. You're creepy.

Read the DOMA.
I'm curious, do you agree with the premise of the 14 amendment? Do you believe separate is equal?
The DOMA is a perfect example that bad laws are passed all the time.
