I wish engy was here for this, but who here is able to simply explain this to me. I just read about it, and it sounds really interesting.

Isn't a vacuum metastability event where the vacuum energy state of the Universe collapses to a new, more stable level, essentially destroying everything and starting anew?

That's what I got from it. It's where the false vacuum quantum tunnels to a real vacuum, and this breaks down the laws of physics as we know it, traveling at almost the speed of light in every directions.
