I have just joined today. There is one website by a man from Venezuala  which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the earth is FLAT. This site has 24 sections, but you need only read sections 1 to 6, and 9

i think yahoo shut that site down.
there are two possible explanations:
1) the flatness of the earth caused yahoos servers to fall through the earth when it became much to populated with "data packets;" the weight of these packets are much to heavy for the earth to hold. OR,
2) I kept clicking the link over, and over and sucked out all its bandwith.

I don't know, im not a scientist.

Hi,

I too joined just today. I apologize for doing so, but I feel this topic completely absurd. I mean, if we can visualize the Earth as round, how can we tell it is flat?

Hello, joined here today because I heard about it. My friends and I are skeptics of the flat earth theory, so I'm here (not as flamebait or w/e) to offer some resistance.

Well, in the first picture

Because the plumb bob should be pulled towards the center of the earth, the plumb line should be perpendicular to the ground wherever it is situated. If the columns are "straight up", then obviously they are perpendicular to the ground. Then, of course, the 7 degree shift that he proposed should not be measured between the post and the plumb line but between the posts!
A bad drawing, but I guess you could figure it out :)

Those are diagrams though, is there any more substantial proof rather than simoply drawings of plumb cords, which could easily be drawn to prove the Earth is round?

That's what I meant. But I also meant that diagrams could be drawn to prove that the Earth is either round or flat, so it's proof for neither side until someone actualyl carries out the experiment with proper evidence.

how would PHOTOGRAPHS from SPACE do? i suppose they did get a photo of big foot. you have to ask why would people lie about something like that? what would they gain?

WE ARE TOLD THAT THE EARTH IS 75% LIQUID WATER

THE POWERFULS OF THE WORLD

NASA, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE SECRET SOCIETES,

THE RICHES, THE SCIENTISTS, THE ENGINEERS, THE ARTISTS

DON'T HAVE MADE A BALL OF REAL LIQUID WATER FLOATING IN A VACUUM

BEACAUSE A  POWERFUL REASON GREATER THAN ALL THEIR POWERS

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!

thats what it says on the site...

ever seen a space video, where in a weightless enviroment the liquids they use form into spheres?

No.

I have, however, seen "space videos" where in a weightless environment the liquids they use form into these very wibbly-wobbly amorphous and not at all spherical blobs.

the general shape is a sphere, now if you added some mass, like, oh, i dont know, continents and iron and shit it would be more stable.

P.S. WTF? "wibbly-wobbly" what kinda comment is that fagboy

So stable that it might not change at all -- i.e., might just stay permanently wibbly-wobbly.

Well recently I've been accused of using words that were too "big" for people.  I don't think I can dumb it down any more than "wibbly-wobbly", not even for you.  Sorry.
