Christian - Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

Jehova's witness believe Jesus was just another prophet.  Not Christ Himself or the Son of God.

I'll take those apologies now. Thanx.

I'm not gonna apologize because you are wrong.  They don't believe Jesus was just another prophet, I think you're confusing them with Muslims.  They have some wacky fucked up ideas, but only in the sense that most religious beliefs are wacky.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

A Christian is someone who has decided to entrust his or her life to Jesus Christ. A Christian trusts Christ for forgiveness of sin, a right standing before God, and guidance in life.

Many people are confused about the Jehovah’s Witnesses. People have written to ask if they are Christians or do they worship a different God? The following article may help to answer this important questions.

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Christians (two separate entities) have some things in common. For example, they share common concerns about religious apostasy, and they teach against Evolution.

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Christians do, however, differ on many important doctrines. In an attempt to keep this article to a reasonable length, let us not concentrate on ALL the differences. Rather…
…LET US INVESTIGATE THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE, THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST.

JW’s believe that Jesus Christ was a perfect man, and that He is a person distinct from God the Father. However, they also teach that before His earthly life, Jesus was a spirit creature, Michael the archangel, who was created by God and became the Messiah at His baptism. According to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jesus is a mighty one, although not almighty as Jehovah God is. According to John 1:1 in their Bible, The New World Translation, Christ is “a god,” but not “the God.” They teach that Jesus “was and is and always will be beneath Jehovah” and that “Christ and God are not coequal”.

Actually, I hate to say it, but wardogg has a point here. The main thing about J-hos is that they disgaree with the assertion that jesus was the son of god (yes, very much like the muslims in that way) which is why they do not celebrate christmas or easter ( so says my relative who is one, and also an ex-girlfriend who converted). Of course they may be wrong, and by extension me, and you're welcome to correct us if necessary.

I think the point was that Wardogg was saying they weren't Christians. I'm sure Jehovah's Witnesses themselves would take exception to such an assertion.

I don't think they'd call themselves Christians. They'd call themselves Jehova's Witnesses and probably would take exception to being called Christians.

I hate stupid people.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Jehovah's Witnesses is a restorationist, millenialist Christian denomination.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus was created by Jehovah, and that Jehovah then created everything else by means of Jesus. While on Earth as a human, Jesus performed miracles, but he does not perform them now. Jesus served as a ransom sacrifice to pay for the sins of mankind. They believe that Jesus died on a single upright torture stake rather than the traditional cross, and that he was resurrected as a spirit rather than with a physical body.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus and the Archangel Michael are the same being.

Yep.  Sounds like a human prophet to me.

Just GTFO.  Islam isn't good or bad, and neither is Christianity.  Their both wrong, so who the fuck cares?

The Jehovah's Witness Jesus sounds almost exactly like the standard Christian Jesus.  I really don't see why they wouldn't be considered Christians.

Me neither but, according to my cousin as well as my ex girlfriend (who I've already said are both JW's) they're not chirstian. I think it has more to do with the way they practice their religion than the actual beliefs. Also, the resurrection issue seems to be a big factor.

Here is whats funny.  According to a few posters, I'm the dumb one.  When this has been quoted:

Quote
JW’s believe that Jesus Christ was a perfect man, and that He is a person distinct from God the Father. However, they also teach that before His earthly life, Jesus was a spirit creature, Michael the archangel, who was created by God and became the Messiah at His baptism. According to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jesus is a mighty one, although not almighty as Jehovah God is. According to John 1:1 in their Bible, The New World Translation, Christ is “a god,” but not “the God.” They teach that Jesus “was and is and always will be beneath Jehovah” and that “Christ and God are not coequal”.

you have it straight out of the horses mouth so to speak:

Quote
according to my cousin as well as my ex girlfriend (who I've already said are both JW's) they're not chirstian. I think it has more to do with the way they practice their religion than the actual beliefs. Also, the resurrection issue seems to be a big factor.

And yet some of you cannot accept the fact that you are wrong.

Unbelievable.
