I liked what I read of the Dragonlance series. I wanna read more but they don't have it more here.

I read a bunch of it, they kind of kept it going too long, IMNSHO.  Some of it was cool, but then it headed downhill.  I am a huge Eddings fan, the Belgariad/Mallorean world is one of my favorites in SciFi.

Personally, I'd at least get a basic grasp of the language before I moved to a new country...

Well thats what I'm going to classes for but you try reading novels in a language you only have a basic grasp of. Plus try learning a language thats in a completely different language group from any language you know.

I tried to learn retardese one time to attempt to communicate with Sokarul, but it turned out to be a much more difficult language than I had expected.

What language and what group is it in? I can read basic Finnish but not novels, they're too full of slang.

Especially since every grammatical rule only applies about once or twice in the whole language, and there are thousands of them. To the casual eye, it sometimes just appears like the magled corpse of english.

Japanese. It's in a group of its own. I'm putting off the kanji and kana for as long as I can, but the romanization of the language can only take you so far.

I've heard discouraging things about Finnish/Estonian too.

You should start learning the kanji first, though. If you do that, you'll understand the system more, I think.

I want to build up a decent vocabulary before I plunge into that daunting mess. :P

I realize I shouldn't procrastinate with the kanji, but I need to catch up on some university shit first. I want to be able to give it my full attention when I start.

I used to know how to say "you're beautiful, I love you, will you marry me?" in Japanese. These students taught me while I taught them english (but I taught it wrong cos thats more fun)

I've just got to hammer away at my Finnish grammar, then I'm sure it won't take long for me to learn.

I only just found these latest posts, so if you don't mind, I'm going to be myself for a while.  In fact, I don't give a shit if you mind.

You said that you were Osama bin Laden.  I feel lied to.  And you're ugly as fuck.  You look even more creepy than Gary Busey.

Who are you again? You post on here, insulting another member, don't reveal your identity, and presume he is oblivious about his own physique.

And I want to hear more about the solar car.
