Well a country ordering a take down of material only really works if the media outlet has offices there.
I doubt Yahoo would have given China that reporter's personal information to lock him away if Yahoo had no dealings or presence in China.
Or it could just be china controlling it's media like it does. You know google doesn't serve china anymore because they didn't want to censor the search results?
Actually, they are claiming the will leave that market if certain conditions are not met. This was more a reaction to coordinated hacks of google email accounts that originated in china and targeted chinese political dissidents. China of course can attack a company by illegal means and the world doesn't even react.
