Circumference, pictures, evolution, harry potter, i like maths (2+2=4)

really basic questions:

why is the circumference of the earth at any given northern latitude the same at the same southern latitude?

i honestly think you've got this all wrong, what is the point in believing that the earth is flat when maths (the same that brought us 2 + 2 = 4) has proved it? also there are pictures - even amateur rocket makers have done this shown the curvature of the earth?  there is no political, economic or social gain to your belief.  are you all Scientologists (or any religious denomination for that matter) also?   

the circumference is the real issue to me as i see that as genuine proof that in my mind this is gibberish.

I have not meant to offend, just try and lend the weight of 3000+ years of scientific endeavor to end this quite frankly ridiculous notion.  to me this as absurd as creationism which is disturbingly spreading as an accepted theory of creation.
