I think Markjo's reputation as a thread destroyer is starting to become its own separate organism that follows him around and does his job for him, regardless of what his posts contain.

Am I failing to fail?
Besides, perhaps FET is a conspiracy too.
It is just the way it is, you understanding it doesn't concern me.

FTP? Given what Parsifal does for a living, I would have thought that VNC would be more appropriate.
I'm just often wrong.
I'm bench pressing body builders in the gym.
What does Markjo do for a living?

Given what Parsifal does for a living, I would have thought that VNC would be more appropriate. So you don't remotely administer any of your servers? As we all know, VNC is a very secure, convenient and efficient way of doing that.
And we also know that there are many different VNC solutions (many of them open source) to choose from.
If you can't figure out how to deploy VNC securely, then that's your failure, not mine.
Quote from: markjo on August 26, 2013, 07:02:07 AMIf you can't figure out how to deploy VNC securely, then that's your failure, not mine.Or I could use a protocol which is built to be secure from the ground up, like SSH.
What do you do for a living Markjo?
Or, you could tunnel your VNC session through SSH or a VPN.
Quote from: markjo on August 26, 2013, 07:36:04 AMOr, you could tunnel your VNC session through SSH or a VPN.Exactly what benefit would that get me over plain SSH?
I suppose that depends on what you want to do with it. Either way, it's still a lot more appropriate than FTP for server administration.
