1. Magnetic Declination is the angular difference between true north, the point from which all maps are drawn, to magnetic north, the point to which all compasses point.

and

Magnetic declination is the acute angle between the horizontal component of the magnetic field and a line of longitude at any given location.

mean the same thing.
Why justify an illegitimate attack with a legitimate response?

2. In the 20th century the magnetic north pole has moved 700 miles, and is currently moving at a rate of 25 miles per year.

Using Google doesn't make you right.

3. If it continues on it's current path, it will be over Siberia by the year 2050.

First of all, it won't be anywhere near Siberia. Second of all, what do you mean, "over" Siberia? I assume you are familiar with the definition of the magnetic north pole?

Interesting fact: Since 1650 the Agonic line for North America has shifted across the entire southern portion of the United States and back again and currently lies in Mississippi.

Okay. How is that relevant?

Funny, I thought the poles experienced twilight during an equinox.

I didn't use google.  I teach a class in map and compass navigation.  The Magnetic north pole will be over Siberia by 2050 if it doesn't loop back around before then.  I am very familiar with the definition.  It's an interesting fact, I didn't say it was relevant, just proves how much the declination has changed in the past 200+ years.

Why won't it remain in Antarctica?

Seriously?

If the pole follows its present course, it will pass north of Alaska and arrive in Siberia in a half century, but Newitt cautioned that such predictions could prove wrong.

How will it get to north of Alaska from Antarctica in such a short space of time?

Of course I do.  You are just trying to argue semantics.  Just because the North Magnetic pole has a negative polarity, you don't call it the south magnetic pole you oaf. We are talking in relation to compasses and declination.  Compasses point to the wondering Magnetic "North" Pole in the "Arctic" Ocean.

But it is a magnetic south pole. Also, compasses don't only point one way.

Just to clarify and let people know you aren't a complete idiot...Magnetic North Pole is a geographic location in the Arctic Ocean, where all compasses point.  The Magnetic South Pole is a geographic location south of Australia in Antarctica.  Osama is referring to the fact that physically the Magnetic North Pole would be considered the south end of a Dipole Magnet.  He is only trying to be difficult and argue this line, knowing it has nothing to do with anything posted in this topic.  Thanks for being an ass Osama.  Go back to your cave....Better yet, stick your head out and wave, I'm sure there are some snipers that would love a good shot at you.

I don't see what relevance the position of the magnetic poles has in any case.

You said that you couldn't use a compass to reference your day measurements because the conspiracy has altered the declination figures.  Complete crap by the way.

Well, they have. The shape of the magnetic field would be different on a Flat Earth to what it would be like on a Round Earth, not to mention that Geographic South and Celestial South are not always the same direction in FET.

Not necessarily.

I think it would have to be, especially relative to the surface of the Earth. To try to place the RE magnetic field onto a Flat Earth would have some pretty odd consequences near the Ice Wall.

The time of equinox here is 01:44 on September 23 (UTC+10). For this reason, a more useful result may be obtained by measuring the time of sunset on the 22nd and sunrise on the 23rd, which is what I shall do, thus measuring the length of one night and not of one day.

My day should be a bit longer than twelve hours too according to Ubuntu. Odd.

In related news, only 149 minutes until the actual time of equinox!
