You were taken into space yourself and orbitted the earth?

Or would you just say that the whole thing was faked and you weren't in space and that it was all a gigantic hoax just for you?

this has been asked and yes one member said they would use video simulation

How can a plane fly around the entire earth? Without turning?

You would fly from east to west by following your compass just as you would on a RE. Of course, you wouldn't be able to fly around from north to south but how often do airlines do this anyway?

If you did that you would fly off the edge.

Not if you where flying east to west. Take a look at the logo at the top of the page, if you went from east to west you would be flying in a circle in between the "North Pole" and the "Ice Wall".

Satellites orbit in longitudinal orbits. North to south and back up again.

I don't think so.

And if you're curious, you can research a tv show (I think it was made in the UK) where they did just that; they tricked a group of young adults into thinking they were going through space camp, training, and finally blasting off into space to orbit the earth.

The entire experience of space flight, however, was faked.

I think so, satllites used in longitudinal orbits are used for ground surveilance. You see as they orbit the earth, the earth rotates and so the satellite can scan the earths surface in about a week, maybe faster.

I think it's called a geo-stationary orbit.

Also, I saw that show. the people they had on it were idiots. If they had anyone with the slghtest bit of intelligence they would have realised it was faked.

Unimportant is right.  Not all satellites are in longitudinal orbits, though certainly some are.  For example, some satellites are in equatorial orbits -- i.e., in a plane perpendicular to a longitudinal orbits.

A geostationary orbit is one whose period is equal to the Earth's and which lies in the equatorial plane.  Thus, geostationary orbits in fact have nothing in common with longitudinal orbits.

Yes, they did do this program - it was called Space Cadets, although there are lots of theories of whether the actual program was NOT faked, and it was really hinting at that the audiance were the gullible party. It was actualy pretty lame, to be honest.

You would have to turn in the flat earth model to fly from east to west or vice versa. Besides, how would a compass function in the FE model? There is only one pole, and all electro-magnetic fields consist of two poles on one axis.

Because the south 'pole''s magnetic effect is spread out around all the edges of the world.

Sheesh, spatial logic, yours = none.

Even though I just used this in another thread, it's fitting here.

See?

Ok, but a magnet does not have one pole in the center, and another pole forming a circle around the edge. It has two poles aligned on the same axis. The south pole of the earth cannot be all around the supposed ice wall simultaneously.

Odd, perhaps, though. I never saw that theory until now, Erasmus.
