Sonic is awesome in SSB BRAWL.

Sonic was the most entertaining character to play in Brawl, I'll give him that.
He turns Super Saiyan. :D

I'm an agnostic atheist, then. I don't really believe in anything, though I won't be certain either way until I get some hard evidence, preferrably better than "my uncle saw god in a car wreck while he was passed out."
You can never be certain, it's not even a rational consideration.

Exactly.  Agnostic atheist is a silly conjuction of terminology, like boat ship.  Agnostics believe there is no way to know, that we will never know, and that the debate is senseless, as we are talking NOMA, as pointed out above.

Athiests don't say there is no god, in general.  They believe in evidence, and the evidence points quite strongly to the non-deity universe.  Weak atheists say they do not believe in god.  Strong atheists say they believe there is no god.

I would categorize myself as a militant atheist.  I believe very strongly that there is no god, but will submit to strong evidence to the contrary.  I believe that whether god exists or not, religions have been and continue to be one of the most destructive constructs humanity has built, and that they are tools of coersion, control, subjugation, and profiteering.
That makes religion bad not God you can't let the destructive fans put u off his Godliness.

That makes god imaginary - a construct of human power-mongers and control freaks.  I did not stop believing in god because religion is evil, I started questioning god for that reasonl.  I stopped believing in god because there is no good evidence for his existence.

I think I will be certain enough if God walked in through my wall, sat down in my chair and said 'sup?'. Though, I'd probably send a urine sample in for testing, just to be safe.
I'm talking a little deeper than that.

How do you mean? I mean, simply, that if God materialized to me, and explained that he actually does exist, and that I should stop with my atheist shenanigans, I would start believeing in him. It's that simple. It's not like I actually want to be an atheist. I feel no need for either belief or lack of belief, I just do what comes logically.

I understand you. In either of your scenarios, I think the most likely thing to assume is mental collapse. However, I mean absolute certainty can never be reached. Knowledge is probabilities.

That is correct, for sure. But I don't doubt my own mental stability, so I probably wouldn't assume mental collapse. At least not at first.

I think I would have to rely on others to see god first, then I suppose I'd accept it.

Of course. But I would probably settle for him telling me things that I could never subconsciously know, until he "proved" to me that he was all knowing.

I think I might need a full-blown, Oh, God! type experience - he appears, makes it rain in my car, has me pull a newspaper out of a vending machine, and the front page article is a personal note from god to me... that kind of thing.  Hallucinations are just to common, especially in someone who has taken as much LSD, mushrooms, peyote, Salvia Divinorum, Devil's Weed, and DMT as I have.

Lol, funny how I, being clean as a whistle, require more solid evidence than you, then.

Well, that depends on how you define solid evidence, doesn't it?  I'm asking him to perform miracles that others can verify.  You just want him to answer some questions.  How will you know the answers are correct?  It's hard for a hallucination to actualy make the inside of my car wet or a newspaper have a personal note from god to me on the front page!

The thing is that you only said you wanted him to do those things, and never said you wanted others to corroberate. I know that I didn't mention this, but I was planning on testing the answers to those questions out. For example: Lottery numbers for all of next month, and whenever I buy a ticket it gets lost somehow. That would probably make me believe. Or it was some guy from the lottery trying to rip me off.

Oh, well, that would work.  I chose the examples I did because others would be able to confim them afterward.  I mean, hallucinating that a dude made it rain in my car is one thing, but hallucinating not spraying down the inside myself - it just doesn't work that way.

I conclude that we would require nearly identically solid evidence before accepting the existence of god.

I think things like true irreducible complexity would at least imply a creative force. But evidence for a god is relativly simple, things like: Devotees are significantly less likely to die early, positive prayer efficacy experiments, dramatic miracles, direct revaluation, etc.
