Dome shaped earth theory
« on: September 01, 2008, 07:09:53 PM »
I know quite a lot of people think earth is spherecal, it's flat but i heard of a theory that says earth is flat but is dome shaped. it sounds stupid at first but in a weird way it makes sense because when you are looking out to sea you see a curve.

What do you think though? I still know it is flat.

That depends on how high the ice walls are. Of course, the ice walls are imaginary, so they can be as high as you want them to be.

Well, to get the measured value of drop for the surface of the dome you wouldn't get such a shallow dome.  You model can't match to observed values.

To my eyes, it is not more wrong than the flat earth model, but anyway I don't like it either. But we gotta admit is if someone takes a theory far enough, it'll start to have believers, no matter which one it's

Gravity doesn't exist in FET nor would it in Dome Earth Theory.

« Reply #15 on: September 02, 2008, 10:59:39 AM »
why not? because you say it doesn't exist? well i want proof that gravity doesn't exist.

Gravity doesn't exist because there is no proof of its existence in Round Earth Theory.  You tell me what gravity is mister smarty pants.

If gravity existed in FET then the earth would collapse in on itself.  The reason you are secured to the ground is because the earth is accelerating at 9.8m/s^2 or 1g.

gladly. drop a pen. did if fall to the ground? good! that is gravity. also, if you take little pieces of styrofoam and put them into a vacuum (i saw this experiment once) they will start forming together

Your first example is universal acceleration.  The second is gravitation.  Not Gravity.

Tell me what causes gravity in Round Earth Theory?

earth. everything is be drawn to its core. that is how you wont fall off the earth if you are on the south poll or if you are on the north pole

Really??!? The Sun is drawn to the earths core??!?  The entire Universe for that matter??!?  And what is drawing them in??

Re: Dome shaped earth theory
« Reply #21 on: September 02, 2008, 11:33:47 AM »
no. the sun is bigger so we are drawn to the center of the sun. but since we are so far away, the sun can only just keep on trying to tug us in while we go in orbit around it.

Really we dont head towards the sun because of our distance away from it?  So if we ever stop orbiting it we will just sit in one spot exactly 1 AU from the sun?

And what is causing us to be pulled towards the sun?  What is gravity made of in other words?

gravity is a force.

In RET you are correct.  But what is it made of?  And you didn't answer my other questions either.

a force is not made up of any thing. if i push you, what was that push made out of? my hands? well no because i still have my hands. if you drop an egg off a plane, what is the force made out of that makes the egg fall? the earth? well no because the earth is still there. are these things the cause of  the force? yes. are they what the force is made out of? no. Anyway gravity is supposed to be made of gravitons. What actually is irrelevant, 'cause we are even with the FE'ers, they don't have nothing about their DE.

You just proved FET universal acceleration.

No seriously, I don't know if you're a true FEr are one of those mod hopefull RErs, but either way saying the Earth is a very, very stupid thing to say. Especially saying you know it's flat, because it isn't.
We told you to go to rehab, but you were all like "no, no, no!" ::)
