satelites
« on: September 01, 2008, 01:06:14 AM »
ok guys my first topic.

if satelites arent really up there how can you see them with telescopes eg. the ISS?

They are psuedollites, put up in the sky so as to propogate the conspiracy.

Apparently the government puts up big floating lenses in front of tiny balloons to make them appear larger than they really are.

a baloon shaped like the ISS? really :o

plus with the speed it passes overhead isn't the baloon thingy kinda wrong?

they spend millions of dollars to send up fake rockets then spend millions of dollars to send up little balloons that move across the sky at very high speeds to simulate the objects that they faked putting up in orbit while at the same time making millions of dollars sending up fake rockets

that makes perfect sense, much more believable than what we claim it to be
Only 2 things are infinite the universe and human stupidity, but I am not sure about the former.

The lenses that magnify the balloons give the illusion of greater velocity.  Kind of like looking through binoculars then moving them left or right.  The image you see looks like it moves faster.

« Reply #6 on: September 01, 2008, 01:39:09 AM »
not the image itself which grantedis fast but the streak of light in the sky from an iridium satelite for example.

just find this kinda crazy. as an astronomer i find the FE model wrong. Gravity dictates spherical shapes inplanets and stars. why not us?

Fireworks.  Also, gravity doesnt exist in the FE model.

« Reply #8 on: September 01, 2008, 01:45:49 AM »
so why are other celestial bodies round and we are "flat"

Re: satelites
« Reply #9 on: September 01, 2008, 01:50:57 AM »
Gravity doesn't exist in either model.

The earth is special.

Of course it doesn't make sense, it's Tom Bishop's answer.

come on.  ;D

also if the other planets have moons why is ours fake?

Re: satelites
« Reply #11 on: September 01, 2008, 01:56:00 AM »
The other bodies may be flat as well, with their own set of flat moons giving off cold light.

hmm i've seen the other planets and they are round so thats kinda wrong already

Seriously. Why do sheep have wool and chickens lay eggs? They're different.

This also answers your question about the moons of other planets.

Have you seen them in 3-D in a telescope?  Neat trick, where can I get one?

Re: satelites
« Reply #15 on: September 01, 2008, 02:00:09 AM »
not in "3-D" as you say but they do rotate, for example the Great red spot on jupiter, moves around the planet.

and saturn has rings so that defo aint flat.

There are actually conflicting theories regarding other planets.  I actually believe they are spheres, but the Earth is an infin ite plane with all other celestial bodies accelerating upwards at the same rate as earth.

You can get a cheap telescope at wal-mart, or pony up a few bills at a hobby shop. Then just go out and observe a bit, instead of just reiterating what others have said. If you wanted to watch Jupiters rotation, or catch a transit of one of it's moons, it may be a bit late in the year already, but that window is just going to keep closing until next summer. You'd have to be up around 4am to catch it as is.

Seriously. Why do sheep have wool and chickens lay eggs? They're different.

This also answers your question about the moons of other planets.

You really think it does don't you?

Sheep produce eggs in reproduction, and chickens have feathers.

This proves that the earth is round. Don't like that kind of logic? Then stop using it as an argument.
Reality becomes apparent to the patient observer. Or you can learn a thing or two if you're in a hurry.

I'm not using it as an argument. He asked why some celestial bodies are round and the earth is flat, and I was trying to illustrate that asking why 2 things are different is not really a useful question.

THE EARTH IS FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT

Wow... Can't argue with that logic.

So if satellites are in fact not in an earth orbit and are closer to the ground, couldnt you just use a laser range finder to prove this? :-\

no way dude, "the MAN" would somehow put a complex mirror between you and the satelite baloon and make it seem further away.

obviously ::)

what a pile of crap

Anyway, if they are in fact massive balloons, wouldn't they move in an irregular pattern, due to wind, convection etc?
