Not to burst your bubble, but you may not be able to get to the "edge."  Some say the earth is an infinite plane.  Others say that the greater ice wall is so far inland from the antarctic coast that you can't reach it due to running out of fuel (or supplies if on the ground) that sort of thing.  What you should be asking for is a trip to orbit.  Now that would prove a round earth.

No it wouldn't. Search for my theory about the enormous dome made of recycled garbage.

Why don't round earther's set up a series of experiments that would prove a round earth and do them theirselves? Or is that too much to ask?

How about this idea for proving the Flat Earth'ers wrong?  Start at some point on the Tropic of Cancer.  Head east, measuring distance as you go, and continue until you get back to your starting point.  Note the total distance travelled.  Then go down the the Tropic of Capricorn and repeat the same procedure, measuring the distance that it takes you to go all the way around the full circle.  If the two distances turn out to be the same, would that not prove that the Flat Earth model is wrong?

Forgive me if this suggestion has been made before, but I'm new to the forum.  I didn't see it discussed anywhere in this or other forums and I wanted to hear a Flat Earther's response to it.  Please don't counter me with the conspiracy argument.  That argument is waaaaaay over used in these forums.  By the way... I'll be disapointed if the Flat Earth theory were to fall so easily.  I really like the Flat Earth Theory.  I'm truly hoping that one of you readers can come up with a believable counter argument to my suggestion for disproving the Flat Earth Theory.

How do you propose to accurately measure where East is for the entire journey, as well as accurately measuring the distance travelled over land and water, including some fairly hostile environments such as those you would encounter in Africa?

I'm willing to measure east the same way that I understand Flat Earther's do.  My understanding is that they use a compass which always points to the north pole, which for them is the center of the flat Earth's circle.  I would measure distance using a device that tells how much ground (or water) I've covered... such as a wheel with a counter on it when I'm on land, and a sea log (based on turning impeller) when I'm on water.  I certainly hope that the best argument you can make against my proposal isn't simply that measuring distance will be too difficult due to the "hostile environment".

Compasses align with the Earth's magnetic field, which isn't always parallel to a line of longitude. How do you propose to correct for this without relying on data that may have been manipulated by the conspiracy?

Conspiracy triangles?

Those are not optical illusions... They are really not all that special either.
(Hint: Red triangle has a slope of 3/8. Green triangle has a slope of 2/5.)

I never said they were optical illusions, either.  Nor did I say I needed a crash course in 3rd grade math.  The point is that you can't just look out the window and assume that things are flat just because they are at first glance.

I didn't realize your intention was to demonstrate the incorrect appearance of a flat edge, nor did I intend to sound condescending.
If I was asked to imagine a perfect deity, I would never invent one that suffers from a multiple personality disorder. Christians get points for originality there.

Okay fine, let's use flat earth logic for a second.

If our government is capable of controlling most electronic devices, which I assume to be true since everything is a conspiracy, then why would they bother with you? Do you really think that our government is incompetent enough not to sniff out your website within hours of creation, and send in a special ops team to kill you, and your immediate family in order to achieve the ultimate conspiracy? I know if I had a conspiracy as insane, and lucrative in this, I wouldn't mess around. No one is going to think that the government has anything to hide, because they're going to think you are borderline mental institution. The government could pay off the mob to exterminate you. Then what?

The logic is flawed.

What would they have to gain by shutting down this website? Nobody takes us seriously anyway.

They might be paranoid, and believe that you are onto them.

If you've seen the photo that's displayed next to my name in this forum then you can easily guess my answer to your question.  I'll use celestial navigation techniques to do it.  The easiest method would be what's called a "noon sun shot", where you measure the altitude of the sun when it reaches its highest point in the day.  From that you can calculate your latitude with great accuracy... without relying on the GPS system which you claim the government maipulates.

And how will you compensate for the changing direction that is East at other times of day? Or will you only be moving at noon?

Well, if you shoot morning and evening stars you can get both latitude and longitude.

Dear Mr. Bin Ladin.  Is your strategy simply to keep on asking question after question about trivial minutia until I get tired of answering them and I just go away?  If so, then your plan to drive me away is on the verge of being successful.  However, your plan to discredit my proposal will have failed.  I think it's time that YOU (or someone knowlegeable about FE theory) answered MY question.  Would my plan not consititute proof that the FE theory is false?  If you answer this posting with yet another question then I will take that as an admission by you that my plan WOULD in fact constitute proof that the FE theory is false.  The way that you can win here is to come up with a credible counter argument showing why my plan would NOT disprove FE theory.  I genuinely want to see that credible counter argument.  I really do like the Flat Earth Society's goals of trying to promote skepticism about RE theory and other conventional ways of thinking.

The plan would indeed constitute proof that FET as it currently stands is false, if you could provide convincing evidence that you accurately measured the distances involved and the direction you were travelling.
