Can you disprove the Flat Earth Theory?
« on: August 30, 2008, 04:29:27 PM »
I seem to remember from high school science that the first rule is the ability to prove yourself wrong. It isnt scientifically provable if you cant prove it. I could say there are thousands of alien races out there, but since, completely ignoring FE beliefs, we cant travel to all the planets in the universe, you cant prove me wrong so it is a moot point. So my argument is not matter how much you prove yourselves "right" since I cant prove you wrong then it doesnt matter. Can I fly into space and take pictures? No because that would be impossible according to FE'ers, can I trust government pictures? No because they are conspirators, and at that the best conspirators and completely perfect in their conspiratorial ways. So there is no scientific discussion here, I cant prove you wrong and you cant prove me wrong.

P.S: How was the FES so lucky to get this information, are you just so privy to knowledge that very few people get? I dont want any BS of "Its a theory and we believe it" well I happen to believe that the earth is round and there are pictures to that "prove it" How can you believe this theory of a wall that no one you know has ever seen or admits to have seen, but you just know it is there. At least religion have their preachers having claimed to see God, I havent met someone to have claimed to see the Ice Wall.

Everyone can look out their windows and observe a flat earth.
Why you have neglected your surroundings is beyond me.

Or couldnt that be explained in that the earth is large enough in comparisons to humans that the curve imperceptible from ground level? Again, can you prove me wrong? Can I prove you wrong?

Oh yes now I see, the Earth is neither round nor flat,it is clearly shaped like a lawn, some trees and hedges, and some houses.

Run run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me cos I'm in the lollipop forest and you can't get there!

How big must the earth be? Why can't I see the curve of a horizon at the beach?

How big must the earth be? Why can't I see the curve of a horizon at the beach?

Earth's Circumference at the Equator: 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 km)

Earth's Circumference Between the North and South Poles: 24,859.82 miles (40,008 km)

Earth's Diameter at the Equator: 7,926.28 miles (12,756.1 km)

Earth's Diameter at the Poles: 7,899.80 miles (12,713.5 km)
about that big. At least I believe.

So why can't I see the horizon at the beach?

Because its so big, so the curve is relatively slight and your eyes arent perfect, so they cant percieve the curve.

Why is it, that if you go from, let's say New York, and travel east, east, east - suddenly you will be back in New York - without changing direction?

You do change direction. Even on RE. Also read the FAQ.

??? i dont get what your trying to think  ??? its so wrong  ::) ok ask any pilot or salior thats traveld to china or japan and ask him if he had to go around a curve in the earth (he will say no) there is satalite pictures proving the earth is round (its not a perfect circle but its almost slightly egg shaped like about as close to a circle as "o" and ya thats pretty much a circle its just so crazy what you beleve where are you getting this information from its just soo crazy  :o its like you traveld back in time before anyone saild around the world there is every bit of proof that the earth is round and no proof it is flat !!.
well i guess there still will be retards out there always rebeling and no matter how much proof there is that there wrong they will always beleve that they are right sorta like how gays think that everybody was made and should be gay if that was true there would be no humans on earth ... but history goes waaayyy back in captians journals they said the earth is round the scientific proof tells us the earth is round and the reason im so upset about people thinking the earth is flat is because my cousin works for NASA they do spend millions to send thoes satalites out they landed on the moon they looked back at the earth and looked at it and they dident see a big floating disk they saw earth the planet we live on and if the earth was flat where is the core of the earth how could thousands of years of volcanic fluid lay billions of miles underground if this flat earth isnt even that thick and i would give i really seriusly mean i will give $3000.00 to whoever can proove me wrong ....so untill then i have proved all of you wrong   :-\

Why don't round earther's set up a series of experiments that would prove a round earth and do them theirselves? Or is that too much to ask?
Yes, it is a birthmark.

Everyone can look out their windows and observe a flat earth.

I can't.  I live in a valley.  Hills all around me.  No flat earth that isn't the result of a bulldozer and paving equipment.

You mean something like:
Observing the heavens at different times, from different points around the world?  -Something that's done all the time, in fact.

FET has never really got to grips with the movement of the heavens, has it?  We've had:
    -Spot light "projections"
    -Perspective illusions
    -Refraction
    -Bendy light

All of them have failed.  -Hence there are so many attempts.  What will be next I wonder?
I haven't performed it and I've never claimed to. I've have trouble being in two places at the same time.

See you have made a mistake there, you have proven them wrong, and they dont answer anymore..

How about also this experiment.

Approach a mountain with a boat or by foot, from a reasonable distance to observe the mountain with a telescope/binoculars.

Now, If what you see as you is the Mid Body of the mountain appearing like the base, the Earth, is Round.

But if you see the Actual Base of the mountain appearing at the base, try moving back a little more. And if you still see the same, you are either cheating, or might have proved earth to be flat.
FET = Fake Earth Theory
RET = Real Earth Theory

And i wonder..Do penguins ever fall in space? Because that Ice Wall bust be pretty High!

Now it all makes sense!!! That's why we could never prove Santa!! He must be hiding at the Ice Wall!!

:D no

Moon squirter, it's an evolving theory, we should be grateful to you (REers on the whole, you sort of failed) for forcing our theory to advance at an incredible rate.

McKee, I don't know about anybody else, I was asleep. Your experiment doesn't make any sense.

Well shouldn't be so hard to comprehend. I am just saying that if you approached a mountain, possibly by boat, and had a pair of binoculars with u, you would see--through- your biniculars, that the mountain seem to be increasing in size,

Understand what I mean?

The dark energy that causes the Earth to accelerate also causes light to bend upwards in parabolic arcs. This means that the ocean blocks some of your view of the mountain, because a parabolic arc with the necessary concavity between you and the base of the mountain would intersect the surface of the water.

I hadnt read that on the FAQ.

By dark energy pushing you away you mean the one caused from the Big Bang?

It isn't in the FAQ because it is a fairly recent hypothesis I have come up with. And yes, the very same.

Some say that the bottom of the FE shields the top of the FE from the effects of the DE/UA.  Apparently you believe that at lest some of the DE/UA completely penetrates the FE.  Tell me, if enough of the DE/UA penetrates the FE to affect the path of light, why is nothing else affected by that same DE/UA.

According to the theory, as I understood it, is that DE affects matter and radiation differently.
