So...the Earth being flat??
« on: August 22, 2008, 07:02:08 PM »
So I read the FAQ and I found it all...interesting. But I found something that really confuses me and I don't understand it at all.

Quote
Q: "What is the circumference and diameter of the Earth?"

A: "Circumference: 78225 miles, Diameter: 24,900 miles

If the Earth is flat, how can it have a circumference and a diameter?

But having a circumference and a diameter would mean that the Earth is round, not flat.

Nope.  Glad you stopped by.  And solved two years worth of debate with a single question.

Well that makes no sense. If it's flat, it can't have a circumference and a diameter.

Here is an object with which you may be familiar that is a similar shape to the Earth:

Can a CD have both of those?

The earth is a disc.

But some FE models are infinite planes.  As I recall, the true size and form of the flat earth is still being investigated by top level FE researchers who have not yet reached a definitive conclusion..
