The "Ice Wall"

I was thinking about the whole ice wall concept again and I have a question about it.  If the ice wall truly does exist, then how come it doesn't melt around the equator?  I don't see how it could be physically possible.  The sun would burn a huge hole into it and all of the earth's oceans would run off the edge.  On top of that, you wouldn't have to worry about having to climb a huge wall to take a picture of the earth's edge.  You could just fly a plane, take a boat, or if it you were in danger of being sucked off the edge, you could probably just take a hover craft and arm yourself to the teeth for all of those MIB agents guarding the hole.  Is this a safe assumption?

The ice wall is not near the equator. The equator is a circle that is directly between the north pole (center) and the south pole (outer rim, or ice wall).

Give it a try.  I doubt it.

Ow!  I've been shot by government agents!  I believe you now!  *grin*

Anyway, One would think that if global warming was getting worse that this ice wall would melt away and all of the water would pour off the edge of the earth.

Errr Chalier Antartica is not completly ice it's a contentt covered in ice. In theory the most that could happen is all the ice covering it would melt away.
Your thinking of the Artic Circle which  is in many places melting away.

Can I ask... If there was a Ice Wall, and the global warming is slowly destroying... Why are the sea levels rising not lowing? In theory the water should go outside of the out skirts because of the dirty great holes.

That's what I was asking above.  You would think that the water would pour off the end of the earth and drench the 4 elephants and the turtle carrying the earth on their backs.   :D

Yar! The name's Don Carnage, the plunderin' pirate!

Do not be fooled, maties, by these cursed lies from the Cubers. I've sailed the Three Great Seas a thousand counts each! I've ravaged vikings along the Arctic too, aye, and did no see no blasted wall of ice other than the sycles on me mustache!

I ask these blasted Cubers where this water shall fall if this so-called ice-wall is to be eliminated? How did such a wall come to be? These Cubers make up lies like they're telling their treasured ones stories for bedtime!

I need a pipe!
Yoho Yoho a pirate's life for me!
We pillage we plunder we rifle we loot, drink up me hearties yoho!
We kidnap and ravage and dont give a hoot, drink up me hearties yoho!
Yoho Yoho a pirate's life for me!

Naturally; the ice wall is what RE'ers call the south pole, not the arctic.
