Players that do not play in character, or who violate the sacred laws of player knowledge will not journey far. I am quite eager to kill you, all deaths are final.

How die rolling works: When you "roll" a die, you pick a valid number. I will have a random mapping so cheating is not possible. Typical dice rolling will go something like:
DM: Please roll 2d8
Behind the scenes randomizes a mapping such as: 1->7, 2->3, 3->8, 4->4, 5->2, 6->1, 7->5, 8->6.
You: 8 and 3
Behind the scenes the DM uses 6 and 8 instead.
If you do not know what 2d8 means, please ask the closest nerd.

I will ask you to roll a stat sometimes, something like, "roll your strength". If you have a strength of 6, this means 1d6. Initiative rolls are agility rolls.

Since people are bound to be afk, players that do not take their turn in a reasonable timeframe will give the DM power to chose their actions, these will certainly be death from time to time.

I will say "Player action" when it is time to tell me what you do. You are allowed one post. Feel free to modify it, but I will take your action at the time I read it. If you post a second action, you will likely die.

Stats
You are all humans with 10hp. All you mages have 2mp.
I expect you all to manage your stats yourself. If I catch you cheating, you will die.

Your home country of Erwing has been invaded. As you hear news of the invasion, half of the country has already fallen. The local magistrate has sent out an order, "To all peoples, abandon all and flee north."

Many have begun to leave, taking little. One man, a local silversmith, rallies others to stay. The silversmith Tulom, finds little success. Amid thousands of fleeing peasants, only 12 souls will stay.

I would say 12 brave souls, but none knew what truly was coming; if they had, none would stay.

It was only 2 days before smoke was seen in the distance. Something was coming. Within hours, you could hear drums. By nightfall, you could hear shouting. The 13 stood ready, staring at the treeline about 5 minutes (as distance is measured by your people in walking time) west.

Just as you start to notice motion in the trees, you realize there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of small manlike creatures breaching the treeline and stepping onto your home soil.

Tulom drops his mace, and runs.


Player Action

Raist casts fireball at the lead creatures just exiting the trees.

Peach the Purloiner picks up Tulom's mace.

User shouts a battle cry.

Althalus readies his sword.

apdan charges with his mace in one hand and mead in the other

Oscar kills Tulom for his cowardice.

Robosteve mounts his horse.

Wendig mounts his horse and casts a fireball at the trees themselves, hoping to burn the majority of the enemy troops which are probably still within the woods. He then turns his horse to the side, ready to flee, should the battle worsen.

Guessed mounts his horse. Following that he gets on it and rides away to hide and wait for the battle to be over.

Can I join in on the fun?

Sir Chrissetti gritted his teeth in rage.

How dare they? This is MY country! He thought, climbing up onto Barry, his faithful yet slightly blind and deaf horse. The small creatures were roaring through the fireballs like they didn't exist. He had to fight, but first he needed a weapon.

With a shout to Barry, he rushed to the blacksmiths, or rather he intended to rush but along with the blindness and deafness, Barry also had a dodgy leg, slowing Chrissetti's war-pace into a war-trot.

Saddam uses his agility skills to fight from horseback, pwning the enemies.

Guessed emerges from the bushes and runs over Tai Lung.

Tai Lung knocks Guessed off his horse and then proceeds to club Guessed to death with it.

Dann comes out of nowhere and offers +1 snuggles snackycakes to all.

lol guessed posted a second action. Prepare to die!

I came, I saw, I conquered Erwing.

Guessed emerges from his coma (which Tai Lung thought was death), and runs over Tai Lung with his horse...again.

Some weird guy rides in from the darkness, and, wielding his Masterwork Vorpal Sword of Flamestrike, rolls three natural twenties, and with a big explosion of flame, Narcberry's head flies, hair still flaming, into the lap of Raist.

Perfect! This gives Tai Lung and guessed time to delete their multiple actions before they die.

Joke's on you, apparently I've already been killed.

Player turn over

The initial scene was frightening. Some prepared for the ominous battle ahead, knowing it was too late to turn back. In an instant they began to second guess their choice as several brave warriors charged on. Even the young acolytes were casting the little magic they knew, adding much chaos to the already confusing scene.

It was obvious very few of the remaining protectors had ever seen battle. Still 3 minutes distant from any foe, some were already tiring from the quick charge. The group was divided, some tired, some fleeing, and others still unsure what to do. The battle had not yet greeted them.

One by one, the protectors began to understand their problem.

Suddenly, the enemies advance came to an abrupt halt. It seemed quite chaotic.

The enemy line is 1 minute out. [everyone roll their intelligence]

Minor actions to note:
Peach: you have tuloms mace
Raist: -1 mp, your fireball was more of a rolling torch. It came nowhere near the advancing lines.
Guessed, Tai Lung: seeing their fate sealed, chose to end a long dispute they have had. Some shouting is heard about whether the Nostrus stream ran north, or north by north east. No one else cares much, but these two manage to spend their last minutes alive killing each other. You two are dead.
Oscar: you are unable to catch up with Tulom
Wendig: -1 mp, your fireball plumed upwards and scattered above your head. You might try a simpler spell before you hurt yourself.
Althalus: As you prepare, your party abandons you in all directions
Chrissetti: You know just where to look for a sword, a second-cousin once removed was rumored to own a sword. It is a 30 minute walk, you guess you might arrive on your trusty steed in 20 minutes. On your way, you begin to doubt your decision.

I'm sorry, but the instructions were a little confusing.  I have an intelligence of 4, so what, I have a 1d4?  Correct me if I'm wrong, please.
