Open letter to Flat Earth Society - Bransons Rocket

To whom it may concern,

 I have been in discussions with a few of your members about the possibility of raising the capital to send Neeman on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic flights. The basic gist of the plan is that a fund, linked with this site, is started and members are encouraged to put minimum £10 in the pot in order to raise £102,000 for the flight. According to the stats on this site you have 10852 members so if each of them put their hand in their pocket there would be more than enough money for the flight and enough left over for a fancy party when he gets back.

 I am more than aware that this plan has gaping holes in it, ready to be filled with cries of 'FAKE' and 'CONSPIRACY' . I would like to have a good honest chat about how to a) safely and securely raise the capital, and b) make this 100% conclusive with no wiggle room.

I don't think there is any better representative for such an endeavour than Neeman. However, to be honest i just don't see it being financially feasible. I really can't afford to contribute to anything right at the moment, but at such time as I can, I shall definitely consider it.

The answer, known as the firing solution, for a particular target works on the assumption the Earth is round. if the earth were not round, our targetting systems would not work.

Since FLS is based in Lancaster CA, they should take a drive up Highway 14 to Edwards Air Force Base, and take a look from the West end of Rogers Dry Lake Bed.  Have one member stand at one end of runway 17/35, while another walks to the other end (bring plenty of water) and watch as the walker goes below the horizon.  Use a telescope..or binoculars if you wish.  Pack a lunch, for the hiker has to go 7.5 miles to get to the other end.

Put my name down for £10 and when you get all the names I'll send money.

Neeman was the only one brave enough to say he'd do it when i originally touted the idea last week.

I think you would also need to accommodate everything that would be needed for the candidate to sufficiently believe he saw what he saw. For example, a view that allows him to see the earth for the entirety of the flight so that there is no question of what he sees. You would also need to prove that the window through which he looks has no sort of manipulation or artificial picture. That can partially be accomplished by allowing him to give instructions to someone he sees through the window. But unless that can be done at altitude, it would be easy to suggest that at some point the window changed from transparent to false images... Good luck with this...

I know. This is troubling me. I have no reason to believe that neeman wouldn't tell the truth so it's a case of other people not questioning him. I thought maybe the flight could be filmed from the ground but that only solves one part of it, he went into up.

AAAHHHHAAAAAAAA a sticker placed on the outside of the window. If he can see the sticker then there's no jiggery pokery. Obviously i'd have to clear this with Captain Branson

We now know that everyone of those who said they would give money are either trolls or gullible fools.

Nobody knows if Neeman is the same person as monkeybradders, if the fund that receives the money is for real or just a scam (similar to the Nigerian scam that has pestered our mailboxes for more than a year).

Several FE'rs have already said that the apparent spherical shape of the Earth, as seen from space, is not necessarily the result of photoshopped images, but the result of the shape of the Sun's spotlight, so even real photos would not end the controversy.

So, if I were the manager of the fund, I would spend the money in it, which would never reach 100,000 pounds, on a nice car, I would select the name of a real passenger as my own, and tell the people in this forum that every photographic material had to be surrendered at the end of the flight, that we were all given photographic material to show back home, and that I never felt any weightlessness.
