Conspiracy cost?
« on: August 11, 2008, 03:42:35 AM »
1. How much do you estimate the conspiracy would cost per year?

2. How much do you estimate the conspiracy would have cost total until now?

Would be nice with bo FE and RE to guess along about this.

About the double of actually flying to space. (image manipulation, Ice wall guards, GPS and sat-tv towers, buying satellites from private companies, genemanipulating the penguins,...)

Far more than the conspiracists would ever make.  RE wins again.

You'll soon realise that the flat earthers here fall into 2 vey distinct groups.  About 90% of them are just winding everyone up for laughs.  About 10% of them actually believe in it, but they're all about 15 years old, still live with their parents and probably trawl the internet looking for conspiracy theories every day.

Its not their fault, they're at that stage in life when they don't really understand the world around them and are very impressionable, therefore believe in ridiculous things such as the notion that the Earth could be flat.

RE assumptions. I'm pretty sure all the FET believers are 20 plus, myself included.

This would mean you fall into the largest of the RE'er catagories: those who make pithy comments based on false assumptions.

And anyway, don't most 15 year olds live with their parents? =/

Far more than the conspiracists would ever make.

It wouldn't be worth it in any way.  To maintain the ice wall, fake photos, fake GPS, etc etc, pay people off.  It would cost an uncountable amount of money.  Far more than NASA's budget, so far more than the conspiracists could possibly make.

It's because you used "brake," as in a brake that stops a vehicle. The spelling you wanted was "break." :)

Don't worry. It's just that we get lots of RE'ers whose native language is English, and it's often much worse than yours.

I'll make a start:

1. Faking data from space: Images, videos, making up explanations for different events such as supernovas, material from the moon,...

2. Simulating space-based services: GPS, Television, Internet, Phone

3. Ice Wall: paying off guards, buying equipment for them, making up shadow companies where they could say they work

4. Faking rocket and shuttle starts and landings: buying the satellites and other stuff build in the shuttles, maintaining confidential shuttle landing base in the atlantic ocean / africa,... paying for the second start to fake the landing, ...
