Gravity does exist
« on: June 15, 2008, 08:22:34 AM »
Please explain to me the logic in believe the world is flat, when we can see other planets that are round and have orbiting sattelites aka moons, orbiting moons = gravity. Why would earth have to be different to be flat? When we know that other planets have dust or ice that is resting on the the planet. GRAVITY GRAVITY GRAVITY.

Jupiters red eye is a massive dust storm, how the hell would a dust storm stay on there, i mean, the planet is ROUND so that would mean everything should falling off if we apply flat earth idea.

Gravity exists only as a construct of the mind.

I just threw fact in your face and thats what you say? Wow.

Beleiving the world is flat from "looking out your window" sounds like a contruct of the mind.

"A: The moon and stars have a slight gravitational pull.

Q:  Follow-up to previous question:  How is it that the Earth does not have a gravitational pull, but stars and the moon do?

A:  This argument is a non sequitur.  You might as well ask, "How is it that snakes do not have legs, but dogs and cats do?"  Snakes are not dogs or cats.  The Earth is not a star or the moon.  It doesn't follow that each must have exactly the properties of the others, and no more.
"

Well i'm sorry, unless your against the FAQ. I think you should read your own FAQ sometimes.

I'm sorry but you gave me no evidence. I proved something, that gravity is believed in even by FE's. So i don't understand now, do you just not believe in a round earth just to be annoying? If gravity exists surely the earth can easiliy be round.

That goes on to govern the universe.

Gravity is just the effect of gravitation that is why we say f=mg not f=g
or if you want to get more precise then you could write it as f=m(Gm/r2)
Only 2 things are infinite the universe and human stupidity, but I am not sure about the former.

That would be nice, altho i doubt i'd still understand. The FRW model of the universe would not exist without gravity.

I subscribe to the FRW model.

Nothing you say therefore makes a bit of sense.

But please, try.

And i suppose it doesn't exist because physicists havn't produced a graviton yet?

It doesn't exist because it's a theory about gravitation that was proven wrong by Einstein.

please explain then gravitationally bound galaxy super clusters, frame dragging, black holes and tidal forces if gravity doesn't exist.

How do black holes forms if there is no gravity, i doubt it would be by the same mechanism

In fact, frame dragging is proof of gravity's non-existence.

How do black holes forms if there is no gravity, i doubt it would be by the same mechanism

It's kind of like a very deep hole in the fabric of space-time so steep nothing can escape.  The mechanism still isn't fully understood by physicists.  And I've seen an article recently suggesting that black holes don't even exist.  They certainly don't rely on gravity.
