Does it allow you to demo off the DVD like other distros? I have both of the above already burned and have played with their demos already.

Yes, they have a LiveCD.

Alright, I'll check this one out as well and add it to the mix.

Edit - KDE vs. GNOME?

KDE is built to be more "windows" like in the UI, however GNOME seems to be slightly modified in the same manner. I personally like GNOME on Ubuntu, but the reason I like openSUSE is for driver support (as I am sure I've explained elsewhere on these forums). It's not hard to get used to either. KDE comes with Konqueror Web Browser, and GNOME has a version of FF3.

I prefer GNOME, and I've not heard of Ubuntu Ultimate 1.9; what's it like?

Oh, and I've said this before, but OpenSUSE is terrible in my books, simply because of their philosophy. I've never tried it, but I'd sooner try out distros like Gentoo with more free software-oriented philosophies.

I am making a recommendation based on support, not philosphies. Like I said, try it and let me know instead of clinging to the edifice of a decadent strategy.

Thanks. Looks interesting, though again moving away from my preferred philosophy.

All in good time; I've downloaded live CDs/DVDs and/or installer CDs/DVDs for gNewSense, Fedora, Debian and Gentoo, and haven't had the chance to try those out beyond a little bit of playing around yet.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

The only difference I noticed in my basic run-around with the demos is that Ultimate is just packed with applications already pre-loaded.
