"Majority rules". Its as simple as I can get it. I mean, if the majority believed in FLAT EARTH, I would also believe it. But its not the case!

Only six hundred years ago the majority of the population believed that witchcraft existed.

Did witches exist 600 years ago?  ???
No, but people were dumber back then and believed too much in religion, i'm sure most of the population also thought that god was watching them 20 fo seven and that satan was watching them too like in a shitty M. Night Shymalan Movie. Either way, how does this prove anything?
You make my brain hurt.

Thing is, all of my quotes in there are true.  ??? And of coarse they haven't proven me wrong once yet.

No, but people were dumber back then

The average IQ hasn't risen in the last millennium. It's not a matter of intelligence.

Most of the population still believes that God is watching over them.

Either way, how does this prove anything?

It proves that "majority rules" is not a valid argument.

Do they believe in vampires and dragons as well?

Nope. Most of the population seems content in believing in things like magical fairies in the sky and the idea that the earth is a ball.

TheEngineer, a pilot who posts on this forum, tells us that the horizon of the earth is not curved in flight. A direct statement of a pilot's experiences in the cockpit.

Quote:

"I believe I said that I put myself through college working for an airline, thus having access to free flights around the world.  I also worked for a private FBO, in which the owner owned a Cessna Citation.  I am also a licensed pilot.  Not once, during any of the hundreds if not thousands of flights I've been on, have I ever witnessed the curvature of the Earth."

and around 70% of the surface of your body is covered in oceans. We already know this stuff.

If your theory that everything is falling upwards along with Earth was correct, we would be see stars and other objects as lines, instead of as dots in the night sky, much like a camera with a prolonged exposition shows.

I've decided to take advantage of Narcberry's automatic sig generator in an effort to be nicer to poor Roundoo.

This one wins.

I have been to the coast and seen the "curve" on the sea but this proves nothing because if you hold a pencil between your index finger and thumb and wobble the pencil about, you get the appearance of the pen being supple (in motion), when it is rigid and flat. (still).

Remember, flat earth isn't still, its hurtling upwards - and also tilting slightly.

There will be a scientific name for this effect you can demonstrate with a pencil, but I didn't waste my time on so-called "science" thank god. I actually want to know things. So I missed out on the name of the effect of shaking a pencil about to make it look curved, big deal.

Anytime some science geek says some big word I do not understand I only need to go look up the definition of that word anyway, then I am at the level of the scientist. People like to sound clever with things like "yaa its circumnavigation yaa" you mean GOING AROUND, you pretentious bastards!

All science seems to do is look for the most mundane answer and go with that. Why does science always focus on the most boring answers all the time? Seems that science is a religion for the most part. A scientist said it so it must be true.

Trolls for what? RE or FE?

FAQ Says (on my "hurtling upwards" comment):

The Earth is accelerating upwards at 1g (9.8m/s^2) along with every star, sun and moon in the universe. This produces the same effect as gravity.

If I am trolling then the FAQ must be as well.

FAQ Says (on my "tilting slightly" comment):

The tides exist due to a slight see-saw effect on the earth. As it goes back and forth, the water rushes to the side that is lower.

Again, if I am trolling then the FAQ must be as well.

If RE is true, why is it only the idiots who ever try (and fail) to explain RE properly?

Thats OK we all make mistakes, me included.

IMO the FAQ should re-word this to say it tilts "up and down" since in the cylindrical shaped tube the flat earth is accelerating upwards inside - there isn't any "back" or "forth" as far as I know, only up and down. If it tilted back or forth that implies horizontal movement outside of the boundaries of the cylinder.

By the way I am only here to try to prove FE wrong and like RE'ers keep doing - I keep failing.

My explanations of FE/RE does not denote "support" or "dismissal" of either thing, thats not science.  :P

Imagine the devolved world we would be living in if no man, woman, or child ever changed their fixed views or explored other possibilities?

I agree that flat earth seems improbable to the RE theorist, and yet FE is still possible.
