Day-to-day life as a flat Earth theorist
« on: May 08, 2008, 12:44:39 AM »
Hi, just a couple of questions for flatheads...

1.
I see you're very passionate about this. What does it feel like to have round Earth rubbed in your face - every day!? Eg,

* Every space picture in books with a round Earth
* Space missions on TV with Earth in the background
* The sheer amount of logos that feature a round Earth (NASA, countless others)
* Google Earth
* Even the little URL posting icon on your own forums:

2.
The Earth as a symbol is used in interface and graphic design to represent 'worldwide', 'globalisation', sometimes 'environmentalism' or 'future thought'. Does it conjure up the same things, or does it really stick out and annoy you?

3.
Do you consider the rest of us as sheep? And find it so incredibly frustrating to explain your beliefs that you don't even bother tell anyone in daily life?

I'm very passionate about all things Apple Mac, I imagine it would feel the same... I've been there, a Windows user all my life. I used a Mac for a couple weeks and my head is clear now and i'll never look back. Some people just don't want to listen and you basically say "if you knew what I know, you'd feel the same way" and leave it at that. Does it feel at all like that?

4.
What do your family members and colleagues think about your theories?

5.
Honestly, cards on the table, what would convince you otherwise? If the most hardcore, respected flathead on these forums hitched a lift to the edge of the atmosphere (or whatever you guys call it), took some photos of a round Earth and said "I was wrong", would that be enough?

6.
Are you first in line for Virgin's trips to space? Or do you think these will somehow either be stopped by the 'powers that be' or tainted to make the Earth 'appear' round?

Thanks,

Daz

Dude there's like 3 people who even claim to believe it on here and I'd bet they're all trolls.

1. Why would I be bothered by people being mistaken about the earth's shape?

2. No.

3. Macintosh is an inferior product, Leopard is an inferior OS.

4. They all believe the earth is flat.

5. In depth studies of the curvature of water over a distance that shown a curved surface.

6. Do you a hundred thousand of dollars to spare?

I'm not convinced these couldn't just be faked.

Further if the pictures come back showing a flat earth, will you, the RE theorist, believe them?

Of course not. It contradicts his precious theory. Trying to get a straight answer out of a RE'er is like pulling teeth out of a toothless hippo; you won't get anything and you'll die.

I'll admit sometimes just reading the prattle makes me sense an aneurysm is imminent.

It is one of my favorites by them. It has been stuck in my head during every bout that I've won in my past three tournaments. Lucky?
