Effects of Gravitation
« on: May 04, 2008, 10:01:25 AM »
Now bare with me as I only have a fairly simplistic understanding of Einstein's theory of gravitation.

So, as you get nearer a large object, space-time is distorted creating a "well" that causes objects to accelerate towards it.
It is my understanding that this new theory was created as an explanation to phenomena not explained by Newton's Gravitation laws.

Such as the slowing of time as you fall into one of these "well"s
And the bending of light around these objects.
Gravitational redshifting is also observed due to the gravitation of the Earth.

How does FE explain these phenomena?

their answer is the absurd "universal acceleration" theory, which states that the earth is constantly accelerating "upward" at one G of acceleration.

they deliberately ignore the huge holes in this theory, like the fact that things weight less at high altitude, just for starters.
they try to explain that away with their endless babbling about "conspiracy", again ignoring the obvious: if this conspiracy existed, the very first thing it would do is get rid of this website!

UA only accounts for Newton's gravitation, not Einstein's. It certainly doesn't account for the phenomena I just pointed out.

All three phenomenon are explained by acceleration.

that's my point: their explanation DOES NOT ADD UP, it completely fails to explain things like why objects weigh less at high altitude (and i'm talking about things sitting on top of a mountain, not airplanes), why Jupiter's moons revolve around it, why the sun and moon would go in circles and not crash into earth or fly off into space, etc.

no they are NOT, accelration TOTALLY fails to explain why objects on top of a mountain weigh less!

The Earth is the only object without gravitation.  This explains gravity decreasing, etc.  The stars pull more on us the closer we get.

Also, wouldn't that seem suspicious if this website down?  Most people laugh at it anyway, it's not a threat.

best way to hide a conspiricy is to let it run its course, and make childish remarks about it

oh, you haven't heard the really outrageous claims about "the conspiracy".

i once asked when the conspiracy took over and some FEr replied, "it was always in control"!
if that were true:
no one would have EVER heard of Robotham
no one would have EVER heard of Tom Bishop
no one would have EVER heard of the flat earth society
this website would NEVER have been created IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

that's how crazy some FErs are!

your saying FErs are crazy because of this website.

that strengthens the arguemnt for a conspiricy. ever heard of a double bluff?
If this site never existed, then there would be more danger of someone else thinking of a better way to convince peopel of a flat earth.

Please go to the grocery store and ask a random sampling of people if they have heard of Rowbotham or Bishop. Record the results objectively and report back. I'm going to the store tomorrow morning and will report on my findings as well.

again, you miss the point: if this conspiracy was as powerful as Username claims, ANYONE who typed "the earth is flat" into ANY chatroom would IMMEDIATELY be snatched by their "gestapo" (or whatever) and NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN!

and that includes Username himself, and the author of "earth not a globe", etc.

so my other point: since we HAVE heard of them, the conspiracy is a fraud, fake, lie, etc.
is that simple enough for you to understand?

If they locked us up what would they accomplish? They'd simply make me a martyr for Flat Earth. I for one would welcome it. It would really get us out there. As it is people just think we're mad. It's really probably better for them to ignore our little corner of the internet.

ok, maybe i exaggerated a little.

but IN THE FAQ it says this conspiracy controls ALL the governments and ALL the media in the world.

do you really believe that?

but you do claim that earth does no follow the same laws of gravity that EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE follows...i challenge you to provide ANY proof of THAT!

this is the first time I'VE told someone to read the FAQ!

Government

Q: "Why do the all the world Governments say the Earth is round?"

A: A Conspiracy among world Governments claiming to have space programs has disseminated the lie to the other governments of the world, as well as to the media and the general public.

Q: "What about NASA? Don't they have photos to prove that the Earth is round?"

A: NASA is part of the conspiracy too. The photos are faked.

that's a direct quote.

objects on top of a mountain weigh less than they do at sea level!

this FACT is what you would expect from gravity, but NOT from "UA".
