Making money off the conspiracy theory
« on: April 28, 2008, 10:40:27 AM »
OK, I read the FAQ, and it states that about 12 people in the whole world are in on a conspiracy to convince others the world is round to make money. OK, I can go along with that.

However, it still does not state HOW they make money. SO far, their business model look ssomewhat like this:

1. Spend billions convincing people the earth is round.
2. ???
3. Profit

What exactly is phase 2 again?

I'll save you some time:

Money NOT spent on going into space = money spent elsewhere. Also, it can't be proven.

NASA's game plan:

1. Get trillions in funding from the government
2. Spend maybe a couple billion faking a space program
3. profit!

Fixed.  See how logical it is?

It was a hypothesis that was treated as fact before it even had a chance of being disproven.

As opposed to $439 billion for defense...

Sorry, but the conspiracy picked the wrong industry to make the big bucks.

You don't think the conspirators in the defense industry already have that covered? There's plenty of money for all kinds of conspiracies here.

The conspiracy has no ground to stand on. I've yet to see a shred of evidence. There isn't even a crazy guy out there pretending he used to work for this crazy conspiracy like the Alien theories have. They don't even have books from paranoid guys saying "omg the government put shit in my brian because I knew the world was flat."

The conspiracy doesn't need the earth to be flat. The flat earth needs the conspiracy.

That's because UFO crazies are out for attention, and former conspirators in a real conspiracy would be killed. Like Rodney Marks after he found the ice wall. Or James Cook. Or Charles Clerke who BOTH mysteriously died on their way back from the 3rd Cook expedition. I suspect they found the ice wall as well...

My instincts tell me that the conspiracy has its fingers in quite a few pies.  I'm sure thats not the only way they are making money or gaining power - ignoring whatever is beyond the icewall.

That $439 billion does not include Iraq, which is an unrelated oil based conspiracy.

The oil conspiracy sucks, unless the oil companies are just trying to piss people off with gas prices. Er, I'm sorry... petrol::)

Anyway you're right. Space is not a money market.

If for some reason username could not rescue you and I were to rescue you, I would hope they had dangled you above a volcano, then I would jump off of the rim of the volcano, grab on to the rope you were hanging from , untie you (being sure to keep a good grip of your wrist and the rope), then kick my legs to start swinging until I was swinging far enough to jump back to the rim of the volcano. If they did not hang you over a volcano I would rescue you from whatever they did, then hang you over a volcano and do what I explained above.
