Is the sun flat?
« on: March 17, 2008, 02:02:53 AM »
Q: "Why are other celestial bodies round but not the Earth?"

A: Some models argue for flat planets as well as a Flat Earth. Those who believe in spherical bodies but a Flat Earth argue that the Earth is not one of the other planets.  The Earth is special and unlike the other bodies in numerous ways.

I still dont understand this.
It looks like you are trying to avoid the question with models and false justifications from random people.
Can you clearly explain to me how earth is special and unlike other bodies in its numeroues ways?

The Earth has life, for one.

And the other planets and moons do not? How do you know this?

Know isn't really the right word.  However, it is because I have seen no evidence that I don't believe that there is life elsewhere.

Yet you believe the Earth is flat without any evidence to support that claim

I'm sorry, Username, but that's just the lamest, most stereotypical argument I've heard on these forums. ENaG is the most fundamentally biased, chock full of errors, and rambling book ever. If(and that's a big if), the earth is flat, ENaG's proofs will still be wrong. If you want to make gedankenexperiments and the lot, that's fine, or if you want to reference a section of ENaG, that's fine, but don't make your argument to any point "Have you read ENaG?". That's just an epic fail.

Yeah, I guess I should have been a bit more obvious about it being tongue in cheek.

Apologies. I've said it before, but subtlety doesn't go across well on the web, especially with the complete retards we see around here from time to time.
