My gripe in relation to the fascist tag that I gave was aimed at the American government (look at that, we might even have something in common here) which in it's infinite wisdom see's fit to shamelessly erode the fabric of it's 'free' society by consistantly putting it's own selfish interests ahead of what is actually good for the people that they are supposed to be looking after.

That's a description of "criminal misdirection of resources" and "conflict of interests", not "fascism".

Where did abortion enter into this?  Abortion is not a civil liberty; it's a controversial corollary of a woman's natural right to make decisions about her body and control her own reproductive resources.  The operative word here is controversial; not everybody believes it should be allowed.  The fact that their opinion makes a difference is an indication that the U.S. government is *not* fascist.

If the government puts itself in front of it's people, it is simply corrupt. Not fascist. I do agree that the American government is semi-fascist, but for different reasons.

Yes indeed clamping down on the freedom of opinion is fasicst. You have claimed that Scotland would do this, which suggests that it is fascist. The last time I was in Scotland, it was not fascist. Since I live in Scotland, I can see that it is not fascist.

You are forgetting that many people believe things with no proof - eg, religions for a start. In fact some people believe the Earth was made in six days by God. Since our government hasn't locked these people up, it's quite clear that Flat-Earther's would not be locked up in Scotland.

For a start I am fed up with being told that I don't understand what fascism is, I have a degree in sociology and social policy and I think it is fair to say I have more than a fair idea of the political nomenclature I choose to use.  I simply don't find it neccessary to articulate that which is painfully obvious and I can't help but feel that for the purposes of argument my comments are being deliberately misconstrued.  I have no time for people who are obtuse and I suppose that is reason enough to bow out of this forum (for now),  my appetite for the hilarious musings of holy fools has been sated for now.  Oh and don't bother with any smooth and winning replies about how you think I have decided not to take part because I am not up to the task because they will not even be read by myself.  Instead take full advantage of this opportunity to feel self satisfied whilst grinning diabolically at your computer screen, you have my blessing you bunch of contrary idiotic timewasting diletentes.

Your verbal abuse is shocking. Profanities instead of arguments reveal your own insecurities about the Round Earth Hypothesis.

The picture of the earth disc is not illustrative of anything. Proponents of the Round Earth Hypothesis cannot adequately explain why the sun appears roughly four times as big in diameter at sunset and claim themselves that the atmosphere causes incredible amounts of visual distortions to achieve this. If we all agree on the incredible amounts of visual distortion caused by the atmosphere, then I cannot see how your image of the earth disc makes any relevant point.

it "appears" to be bigger, but it is not. try this: use sunglasses, and measure it in the sky adn at sunset with the ruler the same distance from your face.
