Well, since the spammers spammed the anti-spam thread ( ::) ) where we were trying to discuss the serious necessity for more moderator presence, here we go. From what Dogplatter tells us, which I presume is accurate, moderators can't appoint other moderators, and an administrator is needed to do that. So...Out of curiosity, do you guys (Dogplatter, TheEngineer, maybe Dysfunction) know where any of the other people have gone? Like...Are we just left hanging here, or did Erasmus or EnragedPenguin say, "Hey, I'm not gonna be here for like three fucking months at a time?"
Because I hate to see all this spam. And I know some of the regulars are part of the trouble, but what I'm sick of seeing is trolls. Way too many trolls. I can barely have serious discussions anymore because before I get in there, somebody else has already derailed the goddamn thread (the idiots with billions of posts here generally just post after the trolls, from what I've seen).

Meh. I'm just curious. I know a lot of people are fucking around with their "nominations" and shit, but I'm one-hundred percent serious about this (as was I about my previous suggestions before everyone was idiotic and derailed that thread, too). I want more moderator presence.

Sorry for the bitching, I'm just sick of trolls everywhere.

Also, just fucking ban Gayer. Seriously. Why is she still here?

I spent the recent ant invasion trying to find a little background on the phenom.  From the little I was able to glean, it may just be that the invasion was dealt with by our mods in the best possible way.  The Ignore Application seems to be the consensus for safest and quickest.

I'm pretty sure we can create new forums (mods), but we don't really dare to because Daniel isn't here, and to be fair I don't think he expects us to do anything of the sort (besides, member permissions/types are a different kettle of fish which we have nothing to do with, so at best all we could do would be to create a duplicate of angry ranting - a completely pointless venture).

Until Daniel's return, Engy, Dysfunction and I will do our best to ban trolls and spammers and lock problem threads.

We are still here, guys, and we'll do everything we can.

It would've saved us both time for you to just look it up on wikipedia. It's right there, all the shit's in front of you, but if you really find it necessary, tu quoque is a form of diverting attention (sort of like a red herring) intentionally by claiming hypocrisy on the opponent. Likewise, if even IF the opponent is doing the same thing doesn't mean that both of them are not in the wrong.
