A grand unified conspiracy theory
« on: January 11, 2008, 06:40:34 PM »
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a writer by trade yet a novelist only by desire, but I stumbled onto this place because of a long fascination with the flat earth.

No comment on the idea itself, but even the site FAQs state that a massive conspiracy is required. I have plenty of ideas on how that could explain everything from JFK to angels to UFOs to why Antartica has been a government preserve since Germany's misadventures down there.

So I'll be posting along these line and welcome any thoughts along these lines. Such as, what's really on the other side of what I see as a coinlike flat earth.

let''s work together. The 'plane truth' is that they've lied about everything.

Let me give you the benefit of the doubt for a second and assume you're not being a troll.  Our conspiracy theory suggests nothing more than NASA and some other space agencies are lying about the shape of the earth.  Some serious FE'ers believe the conspiracy might have been involved in killing JFK, but we're still researching that and isn't our official position yet.  As far as I know, angels and UFOs have no place in FET.

If you're being serious, I suggest you search around the site a little more and figure out what we're actually suggesting when we talk about the conspiracy.  If you're being sarcastic, something I'm a little more inclined to believe, let me assure you that we have heard these "extreme conspiracy" jokes a thousand times before by newbies.  They get less and less funny every time.

Actually he might be on to something with the UFOs.  Think about it.  Maybe the accident at Roswell was actually a government vehicle, and that was when they found out that sustained space flight is impossible.  This could be the genesis of the conspiracy itself.  It makes perfect sense... why would the government hide evidence of the existence of aliens?  I can't think of a reason!!  But hiding evidence that the earth is flat... that makes sense.

As far as aliens go... I don't believe in them.  Unless they're really small.  Tiny aliens I can see.
Where did you educate the biology, in toulet?

Come now, folks, you must admit that to make all of mainstream science preach that the earth is round instead of flat would take more than NASA.

I am not being sarcastic. I'm seriously interested in conspiracy theories of all stripes, and for some reason have been fascinated with the flat earth since my comic book days. And I am seriously interested in formulating a 'grand unified conspiracy theory' to fuel a book I'm writing.

I'm also interested in having fun and kicking around some theories. Thus far, I have to say, posters here seem a little dogmatic and joyless for a group trying to convince people of a theory most would consider pretty far out.

Is this a group trying to find the truth and convince people, or like Charles Johnson, just interested in preaching.

The heroes of my novel, by the way, are flat earthers. One thing I hope to learn is whether there really is a 'flat earth society' that has followed Johnson, or y'all are just yanking chains. There are other sites that do just that.

Neither.  We just debate.  It is pretty fun to try and argue for FE.

I can respect that. Perhaps I'll come back. I am disappointed to find no mention when I search for Integratron, thought.
